Q:Can polyester carpet be washed?
Yes, it's just not easy to clean.
Q:I really like this rug, but it's rather pricey!Anybody know of some similar ones?
OKorder has really cute rugs. Sometimes, the store does not carry them. So you can order them online!
Q:So, im trying to make a little ramp for summer skiing. I need to know what i should use(ex. carpet (type?))
Go to the place near you that sells carpeting. Get the green plastic stuff that looks like fake grass. Some people use this on decks and on boats. If you are using Snogel, this kind of carpet works very well. It's what I use.
Q:I dropped small spots of bleach on my carpet. Does anyone know where I can purchase dye for carpet?
We have a large selection of carpet bleach spot repair dye pens and color dye chemicals.
Q:I already have my carpet and padding. We purchased a whole house of like new, but used carpet at a great price for our LR and BR's and we have carpet padding. We planned to pay to have the carpet installed, but we are now completely out of money and paying someone is not an option. I know it will not be as nice or last as long, but I am wondering if we can glue the carpet down? It's just a regular mid-grade plush carpet. I am also wondering if this can be done with carpet padding or can it only be glued directly to the sub-floor? I am trying to figure out if I could staple down the carpet padding and somehow glue the carpet to the padding? Any help/suggestions on gluing down carpet with or without padding would be appreciated. Thanks!
Carpet and a separate pad cannot be glued down . This system needs the tack strip on the perimeter. Any and all carpet can be just glued direct. Not a comfortable walk on regular carpet but it can be done. Getting the stretch on this type of carpet installation is hard for a DIY er. Glue direct commercial carpet is a different story. Plus consider what you d pay for glue ( not cheap) and reconsider having it professionally installed. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:I have a large black rug. The hairs in it are impossible to get out! I've tried vacuuming AND brooming. The hairs won't budge. Does a professional need to clean it or can I clean it myslef? Thanks.
If it fits in your kitchen sink or the bath tub, ,Then put it in a little at a time, Start by wetting the first part of it, and using a scrubbing brush, and brush it brush it up and across, clean the brush of all the hair. and proceed to put the next part of it in the sink, and continue, this procedure . Once you have done the whole rug,Now use dawn or any detergent to clean it, Roll it up and stand it up to let the water drain from it. Then hang it out or put it in the dryer. When dry take a piece of large tape and go over the rug to remove any hair that is left.
Q:WANTED TO TRY THIS ART BUT NEED A SIMPLE PATTERN
Try this site, it's the best one I've found so far. All you ever wanted to know about making rugs the old fashioned way: with braids of rags. From the simple to mind-blowing, designs, colors, patterns, history, instructions, how to add braids, the many different styles of rugs, projects for the beginner, suppliers and much, much more
Q:The rug is modern-style 6'x9' with many colors. It is generally pretty dirty all over as well as some spots. Can it be done at home or should I have it done professionally?
For the most part, small to medium-sized wool rugs can be washed at home. In order to wash your rug at home, begin by spot cleaning any stains with an appropriate stain remover. It’s best if you test the cleaner on a small section of rug first. Be sure to use cleaning products that will not damage the integrity of the rug. Take the rug outside on a paved area, like a patio, and wet it down with a hose. Add about two capfuls of a mild detergent in a bucket of water and mix up the suds in the bucket. Wipe up your rug using a clean sponge, rinse the suds away, and roll up the rug in dry towels to soak up excess water. Another option is using a Wet/Dry vacuum to suck up the dirty water out of the rug faster. Once the water has been drained, lay the rug flat to dry, but don’t let it sit in the sun for a long period of time—it can cause the color to fade or the rug to shrink
Q:My eight month old son just popped the lid and coverede himself and the carpet!!
Carpet cleaner and then add boiling water. After this, make sure you scrub really really hard and make certain that the carpet is completely dry, use a hair drier if you have to, because you don't want mold under the carpet. This should remove it, it removes most carpet spills except things like ink.
Q:My pony is not clipped and I was wandering what weight rug I should put him in in winter if at all. Should I put him in a stable rug when he is in his stable, and should I put a rug on him when he is out?Should I ride him in an exercise sheet as well?
new zealand rugs are great for colder weather in the outdoor pasture. if your barn is closed off from the wind then a regular fleece rug should do the trick at night. you can ride him with out a sheet on as his fur will keep him warm enough. if you bathe him after you ride him make sure you put a wet/dry sheet so he doesn't get chills and get sick. there are thicker winter coats for barn and stall use for nighttime as well but i think he/she should be good for the most part. BTW, any horses over 12 hands are not called ponies, they are put in the horse category. under 12 hands is a pony technically speaking.
