- Most toshiba keyboards are secured in the same way. There should be a removable cover running along the top edge of the keyboard - this can be prised off with a flat blade. Underneath will be the securing screws - remove these and the keybaord can be gently lifted away, it will have a ribbon cable so make sure you don't damage this

- If the HP keyboard has an USB interface and you use Windows XP, it should be automatically recognized even if you plug it in while the computer is running. If it has a PS/2 interface you must turn off the computer, plug the keyboard in the purple connector behind your computer (the green one is for mouse!) and then power on your computer. If the connectors are not coloured, then plug the keyboard into the connector that is closer to the margin of the computer case.

- I play minecraft on a laptop with the laptop keyboard without problem. But buying a keyboard you feels comfortable with is important imho. It's just which keyboard you are used to. If you play using laptop a lot and you are used to it, changing to a gaming keyboard may hinder you.

- Depends on the keyboard and laptop. There are 2 types of keyboard (main types): PS2 (round green plug) or USB (flat like any other USB). Some older laptops have a PS2 port, most new ones do not. A USB keyboard should work on most any laptop. A PS2 keyboard can be adapted by buying a PS2 to USB converter for ~$5. You may just want to upgrade to a newer keyboard.

- may not necessarily be the keyboard, but your computer that is lagging, the most simple solution i can suggest, would be to replug in your keyboard. another solution could be to reinstall your keyboard drivers. while these may solve your problem, it is most likely that your computer is lagging, not your keyboard.

- HP's can be tricky, first you want to remove the plastic bezel around the keyboard, there will normally be screws on top and HP loves to put screws through the bottom, once you get all the screws out the keyboard just falls out, disconnect the cables and you are done.
