Q:Can anyone please help me! I am soooo serious here...I have purchased two vacuum cleaners and they both SUCK. Bissel allergy one with the canister that you empty...It does not vacuum well at all, I can pick up stuff off the carpets better that the that. And then I bought a eureka vacuum from costco, not only is it hard to push, 4 months the screw came off the handle and is in the vaccum itself.....It is supposed to be industrial, and it is with a bag....and NEVER ever have I seen such scrap....I have new carpets so that is not the problem here...I also have pets....I do not want a tyson 3000 or whatever they are called...although they say they are good, and after what I have spent in these 2 vacuums I should have bought the tyson...So any suggestions or what you like would be appreciated...I am just fed up with picking up JUNK :PThanks you all..: I okorder /. It reviews multiple brands and manufacturers. I have two toddlers and two labrador retrievers and the Kirby cleans great and doesn't need filters. The bag is the hepa filter! Good luck

Q:I'm a guy who isn't extremely familiar with vacuum cleaners so maybe someone can help. I was running around the house with my Kenmore Progressive vacuum cleaner and I accidentally pushed the adjustable thingy that lets you set the height of the vacuum. This adjuster thing is about halfway down the silver tube. The second I touched it, the carpet cleaning part shut off so it's just sucking air. I pushed everything together as hard as I could trying to get it to come back on but with no luck. I had been vacuuming for quite a while. Do these things shut off when they get too hot and stay off until they cool? It seems kind of fishy that it died right when i touched the adjuster thing though. Any ideas?: I suspect that your vacuum shuts off the beater bar (carpet cleaning part) when the height adjustment is put on low. This allows the vacuum to clean a non-carpeted floor without the beater bar kicking dirt all around the kitchen. Once you figure out how to properly re-set the height adjustment, the beater bar should work again. You may have to check to make sure the beater bar drive belt is still in place. I don't know why you had such a hard time re-setting the height adjustment, but evidently you were doing something wrong, as it should not take that much muscle.

Q:I have just a small apartment and need to get a small vacuum cleaner. But something that has good suction, and won't be useless after 5 uses. A few years ago, I bought a Bissell quot;stickvacuum cleaner and it was a waste. It barely picked up dirt from a floor, let alone a carpet. Any good suggestion will be appreciated.: Try a Shark Rocket (model HV300). I have one and it does a good job at cleaning carpets and hard floors!

Q:My dog likes vacuum cleaners. Whenever I vacuum, he comes over and tries to chew on it. He doesn't really care that its a very strong one either. He doesn't even mind people vacuuming him on the back! He just sits there like he's being brushed. Anyone else have a vacuum loving dog?: Yes it is perfectly normal for a dog to do that, my dog does that all the time he loves it and the vet said it was normal for dog to do it too. Plus it helps it when your dog is shedding and it some what keeps dogs cooler.

One with sealed HEPA costs $200 more than the one using HEPA 12 filtration. We have two dogs and no one in our family suffers from allergies. Would sealed HEPA filtration justify spending $200 more on a vacuum?Thanks.: Well the sealed would keep in more allergens and dust. The non sealed would would suck in allergens but spit them back into the air or at least most of them. I would recommend checking with people you know that you would consider inviting into your house and ask them if they are allergic to dust or allergens. Now i would recommend the shark navigator to you because it costs just under 200 dollars and has anti allergen technology to lock in dust and never loses suction. Now what they say on the commercials are true our family owns one and it is true. i have seen an improvement in my allergies. it also has free shipping and handling.so i would hope this helps.bye
