Q:LOL He barks, jumps, whines and bites at the vacuum while I am using it(and with a black GSD I do have to use it alot!!). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him used to this? When he was a puppy it did not bother him at all but as he got older, the minute it comes out of the closet he starts whining and barking at it. I have tried telling him NO as I vacuum and he will stop for a 1/2 a minute and watch it but it seems that as I am moving it back and forth across the rug he just can't help himself and he's on it again. I have tried distracting him with toys and cookies to no avail. Short of putting him outside (or in a closet JK) I don't know what to do. Anyone else who had this problem (or not) and may have some help?
Banshee, I have 2 GSDs, and, both of them, (one is a Female, other a Male) both act silly when I have my vacuum going also. One will bark at it, and, jump around also. The other wants to hang around and watch it thus not moving out of the way......he even will paw at it, and, defy it. My (F) Rottweiler just moves, and, stays clear, so, I guess GSDs in our case see a Vacuum as some form of invader or something. I just deal with it. My female is almost 9 y/o now, and my male is almost 6 y/o. I don't even try to change their behavior. I guess I'm glad they don't go running away and whining. I'd rather see them rather macho unlike my cats whom head to cover when they see me plug it in.
Q:I heard it spins around in there at 9 times the speed of sound, that being true how is it possible to see a recently sucked up ant able to crawl around pretty happily in the bit where you can see all the dust? Serious answers only please.
Ants have exo skeletons. They can survive pretty much everything except for being stomped on. They would most likely get caught in the dust and not be thrown around inside the vacuum cleaner. And im pretty sure vacuum cleaners dont spin at 9 times the speed of sound...
Q:anyone know how well the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum works?
Is it for upholstery? If so, wet a sponge and wipe the pet hairs from the upholstery, they'll all come off brilliantly. You can even use a diluted nice smelling disinfectant to wet the sponge? This is how we used to remove the pet hairs from out settee.
Q:I am in China and don't have any carpet in my apartment (thank goodness!). I was thinking of getting a vacumn cleaner as it is aways so dusty but will this do more harm than good to my health in my apartment. Is it better just to sweep regularly and mop up the dust? Thanks !

Q:can commercial vacuum cleaners be used a home ?I dont know if their high speed and powerful motors can damage the carpet at my home.I am thinking of buying oreck but dont know if I buy thier commercial vacuum cleanerthey can damage my carpet.Let me know if you have any experience with those.
commercial vacuum cleaners are usually just bigger and more powerful. i have one that i got at work and i use it at home all the time
Q:For wall to wall carpets. Thanks.
Check consumer reports magazine's last 3 yearly reports booklets, at the public library. Check the index for vacuum cleaners, and look for their recommendations, repair records on the devices. . Good luck. Doc. Dan.
Q:I have a one-year old and lots of crumbs on my floor that our vacuum won't pick up. We currently have a bag less Bissell and I hate it. We've replaced all the filters and cleaned it but it still hardly picks up a thing. It leaves little hair balls on our carpet and kicks dust back in the air. I have to open the windows every time I vacuum so we can breathe! We're looking to get a new vacuum and I am interested in any brand and reviews you can recommend. My parents have had an Electrolux for 10+ years and it works great. However, the price tag ($500) is a little much for me. I'd also rather not go bag less again. Any suggestions?
I have a Dyson and wouldn't recommend it. Lots of money for a cheap piece of plastic. The brush doesn't get into the carpet, just skims the surface. As far as suction goes, I have a kenmore that does a better job and contains the dust. The Dyson dust catcher is messy to empty and dust flies wherever you empty it. Also, the Dyson requires constant maintenance in removing pet hair attached to the brush and through the chambers. Hair and dust don't always make it to the chamber. If you have any problems with the Dyson, (mine broke after 6 months of use) you have to send it off and wait 4 - 6 weeks for it's return. My suggestion to you is buy a hepa filtered vacuum with or without bags. You'll save money and get a better built product.
Q:vacuum cleanerspetrolbakeriesmmmmm
A good smelling mmmaaaannn. And gasoline... or petrol as you say, my dear.
Q:I've tried Bissell, and nothing works like my 14 yr old Dirt Devil. I cannot get filters for that anymore tho......I want something that doesn't kick sand up on my feet, I NEED SUCTION. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I own a cleaning service, and what we use are called backpack vacs. You can get them at your local vacuum cleaner store for around $200 on up.You can google backpack vacuum cleaners and see the various models and price range. This type of vacuum has strong suction and its easy to use. This vacuum is for HARD FLOORS ONLY so it doesn't have a brush roller that scratches wood floors like most uprights. My cleaning crews love this vac for vacuuming pet fur. Good luck!
Q:Hello,I am looking for best vacuum cleaner. I have both carpet hardwood floors in my home. Also a month old baby. Which ones are the best in terms of efficiency and low maintenance. whether it be the central vac, or the standard ? my budget is flexible as I know you get what you pay for. Thanks for your time.
We use a Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus. It has a hepa filter and is bagless; it works great on our hardwood floors and carpeting AND our youngest has asthma and it doesn't bother her by kicking up the dust/pet dander.
