- Q:I have started a wood splitting/hauling business and so far business is great. Problem is it would be even better if I could find where to get an electronic brake control module for my truck. My trailer is equipped with electronic brakes but my truck does not have the module or wiring harness. Where can I find this and roughly how much will it cost me? I have 2, possibly 3, cords going out tomorrow and would like to have this hooked up before delivery. - Pull hard. It will come out There is slit in the corrugated loom.If it has that tape on it, note that it isn't adhesive. You can unwrap it like a mummy--takes a while--or slit it (Careful!) open and use electrical tape to replace it. If it's melted and cracked, it may take insulation from any wire it touched. There was a short--find and fix this Before you replace the wire or it'll do it again.
- Q:I am trying to put a aftermarket starieo in my thunderbird. but I can not seem to find the speaker wire harness. I have one harness that the power goes to and i have that plagued in and working. But, I can seem to find the speaker set. The only thing I have is a square looking plug, the plug has 8 wires going to it, but i don't know if this is my speaker set or not. I don't want to start chopping that up till I know its the right one. SOME ONE HELP!
- The square one is the speaker harness. My probe has the same setup. The best thing you can do is to buy a harness kit so you don't have to cut your original wires. Also, I'm sure your car has a factory amp, so you will need to buy an amp integration harness to use your factory amp. If you don't use your factory amp, then you'll have to run your own speaker wires because you'll get no sound if your amp doesn't turn on OR they most likely make an amp bypass harness that you will need to buy. If you have a power antenna, the harness kit will make it easy for that to work again too.
- Q:I decided I wanted subs n my friend has them so I figured I'd let him do it since he had some experience well we took the stereo out and get ended up cutting the stereo wiring harness to the stock stereo there were 18 wires, majority were to the speakers, they ended not needed to b cut at all well I decided to ditch the subs but now what do I do I have no stereo or music would a professional be able to fix it, he tried to but now it sounds like crap I can't even blare it even a little with out it crackling or rattling I jus want it back to normal
- I'm a little confused because of how you worded it, but If i'm correct, I think your problem is that you cut the normal cables that connect to the stereo. Either way, You can always reconnect the cables you cut by crimping them (Google it if you don't know what that is) by using crimp caps or splice connector caps It's really not that hard, the only pain in the *** would be crimping them in the location where the stereo goes because the cables can't come out of the car. You also said it was a stereo wiring harness, so the harness should be able to come out of the stereo. Just crimp/reconnect the cables together and it should sound like usual and start over from there. If you bought a aftermarket stereo, then you should get a vehicle specific stereo harness (like honda civic, lexus blah blah blah), attach it to your normal stereo harness and attach wires by color to color (grey to grey, white to white, purple to purple you know)
- Q:Have a 2001 Chevy Blazer Xtreme and the engine wiring harness melted(probably small fire). Need a new one but the dealership charges $1500 for a new one. Trying to find a used one (junkyard, OKorder). Will any other year/model's harness with the same engine specs (rear wheel drive, automatic, 4.3L V6) work or does it have to come out of a 2001 Xtreme???
- It must be the right one, sorry. A 2001 4.3L. If you look near the end of the harness, usually where it hooks up to power, there is a label with a part number on it, you could call around yards with that number or get the proper number from a dealer if it's too bad to repair it.
- Q:I have a 2005 pontiac g6 gt with the premium monsoon sound system and the Cd player has stopped working a while back and have just recently bought a new one and I would like to have the jvc KW-ADV790 installed in it. I do not know what wiring harness to buy. I took it to circuit city to have them install it three weeks ago and they ordered the part but still don't have it and I am going to be going on a long car trip relatively soon and would like to listen to cds. I was planning on having the part overnight-ed and just taking it to them so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.thanks, Rob

- Why would you replace an entire wiring harness on a PS car such as this? Either fix the harness you have, keep checking junk yards, or buy a totalled vehicle and snag the harness from it yourself. Astrobuf
- Q:I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo and it has a recall on it that cant be fixed due to expiration. Is there somewhere online or a place i can get a wiring diagram or underhood diagram of the suv. for the engine wiring and stuff
- Should be able to do all that with a Haynes manual (best $20 you could possibly spend for the vehicle). Replacement harness can be had at junkyard or OKorder, if needed.
