Sure , but if the model is drawing power from the same battery pack (eg an electric plane) you will find it expensive to use non rechargable batteries. Many models that have electric motors have high current demands , which normal AA batteries cannot deliver. That is why they use battery packs made from Li-ON cells or similar. Li-ON packs pack the most power verses weight. ,,in some models though this may not be important. It all depends upon your application.

Q:all of a sudden the battery packs arent working i charged them up and i put it in the controller and my controller blinks green but does not connect and i tried syncing it and it still didnt work and i kno it is the battery pack bc i used regular batteries on the controller and it still worked so any advice in what to do or if u had this problem tell me how u fixed it

Q:I have the battery pack for this phone, but it doesn't say in the directions if you're supposed to take off the layer of plastic wrap that covers all but the ends of the batteries. There is a small plug-in that goes from the battery pack to the phone, so the batteries don't actually have to make contact with anything other than that.We live in a town with a volunteer fire department, so I really want to get this right! :)

Look at the voltage of the battery pack, it's probably 3.7. I've never heard of a phone burning up unless it takes a lightning hit. The plastic should stay on, it's protection from the battery leaking. You won't start a fire.

Depends on where the charge controller is located. This is the circuitry that adjust the charge rate for the batteries to charge them properly without overcharging, a difficult task that requires circuitry tailored for that battery. If it is in the light, and it probably is, a small change in input voltage is not important, as the charge controller will handle that. But if not, then you have to use an exact replacement.

Should of came with a reasonably long, grey cord that plugs into the pack at the back of the controller. If you don't have one your in trouble. Word of advice: if you happen to find the cord and plug it in don't leave it plugged in. Common knowledge that if you leave the battery plugged in it has less life when you unplug it. I didn't listen left it plugged in and now it'll last half an hour to forty-five minutes at most.

Microsoft reconfigured the wireless controller power requirements at one point, around August 2007. Older packs don't work with controllers made after this point. I know Nyko has a replacement program, don't know if Microsoft does. If that is not the case, it is just a busted pack. Try to get a replacement through warranty or just buy a new one.
