I'm not certain whether you are asking what to put in a steam cleaning machine or what you can use to clean it without using a steam machine. So, I'll answer both ways. If you want to use the cheapest means possible to clean carpet, remove odors and get down to the padding, a steam cleaner with 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar will do it. Otherwise, use the detergent and solutions recommended for the type of machine you have or rent. If you want to clean the carpet without a machine, you have a couple of choices both are not expensive. You can use dry carpet cleaning granules, Resolve and Capture both make them. You just sprinkle them down, agitate into the fibers with a brush on a stick, let it dry and vacuum it up. Or you can use a foaming cleaner, like Woolite or Scotchguard Foaming Carpet Cleaners, use a damp mop to work it in and a brush to treat stains, allow that to dry and vacuum.

Q:Is professionally cleaning a FILTHY carpet enough or should it just be replaced?I am moving into a house with a FILTHY carpet. Truly disgusting, just nasty. The house stinks bad because of it. The landlord says he will get it professionally cleaned. I would rather have all the carpet taken out and replaced...or some other flooring put in. Is professionally cleaning a carpet that great of an idea? Does it only get the top surface clean..or does it clean deep down?

The landlord doesn't have to replace it, unless it smells. You won't know anything until it gets cleaned and is dry

Finally, you can also contact some of the production of carpet manufacturers, to give you some samples for those placed in your shop, do some carpet business, sometimes a month to do two single shop list, you this month's expenses came out. Good。 Placed in the shop some kind of block, the customer needs, and you go to the warehouse to pick up the goods, do not pressure costs.

Q:i dont have enough money to re-carpet my floor. for my room my dad says that it would cost about $500. but we dont have enough spare money for that kind of thing (we're saving for disney.) but i hate my carpet! it has stains all over it that i cant get out. and its a girly periwinkle color. he said that i can re-paint it. but i cant paint it the color i want because the carpet wont work with it. i dont know what to do. my room is SO tiny as it is and i dont like it very much already. my parents have the biggest room (obviously) my older brother has the second biggest, my little brother has the third (i could have had it but it has green walls and red carpet) and my older sisters room is the same size as my little brother's. what is an alternative to recarpeting my room so i dont have to pay as much??? is there ANY ideas, anything that might help is appretiated, thanks!!!

1] find out what is underneath it - don't rip up the carpet, find out first. 2] find a carpet company near you, that sells remnants. Measure your room exactly first - you can sometimes find a great deal! 3] get carpet steam cleaner or have professionally cleaned. 4] get an inexpensive area rug to put over carpet. 5] get a job, and buy your own carpet!

Q:ive melted the carpet by accident and my mums gonna kill me! is there anything i can do!?

Depends how deep you burnt it. If not too deep, try clipping the melted portion off with a pair of nail clippers or small scissors.

Q:my mom wants to get a big but not too big or expense dragon rug. Where can she get it online? That really looks like a dragon? every time my mom searches for dragons rug on the computer she gets weird and not dragon rugs or even close to it. We live in a small town so the stores around here do not any dragon anythings. sO where can she find one that is worth the prices and the right size and looks like a real dragon and not a blob?

Why not design and create it yourself. Rug hooking is simple enough, and their are sites that can give you other ideas for making rugs.

ya, it holds dirt and mites. Go for a laminate floor like Pergo and some washable area rugs! Laminate cleans with a mop, doesnt hold stains or odors, doesnt scratch and looks like rel wood. I love mine.

Q:Can a carpet store take carpet out of some one home and sell it to some one els and put it in there home? No this is not a joke!

In the US--Usually, the carpet they remove when they replace it with the new carpet is discarded. If the owner of the home didn't care to keep it, the carpet store could take it with them. They could resell it and install it somewhere else if they found a buyer. But if they are selling it as new, and it is not, they could be sued for fraud. Some states may have specific health and safety laws prohibiting them from reselling the carpet, but I don't know of any.

Q:I purchased this house last year Sept. 17 2010. From day 1 I had severe problems. The ceilings in the back fell from a Norway rat eating the pipes. I did a mold test and Black Mold was a positive. The walls have been removed and replaced. The rat problem stopped after a Professional Trapper was hired. The house has been completed changed. All big mirrors are gone. That is were mold was too. Now I have Conjunctivitis in both eyes and I keep itching. Is this possibly the carpet in the back rooms? I have been cleaning them out so they can be tiled next week. Is tile a good idea? The AC unit could also be an issue. I would appreciate any advice. Owning a home is great. Most of the house has been completely remodeled. Carpet. AC unit. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Q:I know they make oxy cleaner for almost everything these days and they make oxy carpet cleaner but i was wondering seeing the powder oxy is cheaper then the the already made carpet cleaner can i use the tub of oxy (if i mix it with water) on the stains on my carpets just like you would use in your laundry will it do the samething or should i just buy the cleaner itself?

As a carpet cleaning pro, I've seen hundreds of damaged carpets, mostly Nylon or Polyester, where a laundry product permanently damage the carpet dyes. When inquiring as to what caused the damage, the number one culprit was Oxy Clean Laundry Detergent. About 6 years ago, I came across a couple who used this product to fine tune the spills and stains in their carpet, severly damaging the Nylon carpet in numerous areas. They did receive a settlement from the Oxy company at that time to help replace their carpet. Their ads made it sound like they had a miracle product available. If you have Olefin carpeting, a laundry detergent may not hurt these fibers, but why take a chance. Never use bleach on any spill or stain on furniture or carpeting. I've seen thousands of damaged carpets cause by the mis - use of this laundry product.
