Q:I thought my rug would smell better after a whole day in the sun on my patio but it rained and it got wet I dried it again in the sun and now it stinks!I have brown stains on the BACK of the rug.I cant throw away the rug..it's beautiful.I can hire prof cleaners dont have steam/carpet shampooer. If you suggest home remedies, pls specify exact proportions.I guess I'll have to wash it with mild soap water in my tub let it dry in the patio again?
Here is what I would do: Step 1: Wash the patio until it is very clean--use a tiny bit of dish soap if you have to. Step 2: Lay the rug out on the patio and get a good carpet shampoo and clean the rug outside on the patio (no water tracked through the house) with the garden hose. Step 3: Hang the rug in a safe clean area to dry. Try to avoid areas where kids and pets could knock it down or get it dirty. Also, avoid hanging it somewhere where dirt could get blown onto it. Remember, the sun can cause discoloration. Step 4: After rug is dry, bring inside and place back on the floor in the respective place. Spray the rug with Febreeze fabric refresher until it is damp. It should dry within 2-3 hours (max) and it will be fresh and clean. Tip: If it is supposed to rain or it looks/smells like it is going to rain, don't wash the rug. You need to allow it adequate time to dry. You will have a mildew smell in the rug if you don't. Also, if there is no moving air outside and it is really humid, the rug could still get a mildew smell. Make sure that the place that you choose to hang the rug to dry has moving air. Good luck! I hope I helped!!! :)
Q:Should the couch sit on top of the rug completely or should the rug be in front of the couch?
Bob says: Under
Q:Hey. Is there any place that I can get fake fur area rugs like alpaca fur or sheepskins. They're so damn comfy but I don't want the real deal, that's cruel. Please don't bother telling me to go to ikea. Thanks for your help.
in my view, i think of the rug is a splash cheesy-looking. possibly you will desire to locate one it incredibly is sort of extra stylish. additionally, each and every so often there is actual fur jumbled in with pretend fur. They alter it so as that it can not be to any extent further than 10 or 15% of the entire merchandise. So, yeah there is that possibility to buying actual fur against your will.
Q:So, I've seen on the internet about these rugs that is practically all you need all year round. It consists of 3 layers: a protective sheet, an outer shell and a reversible quilted blanket. I have only seen a few of these on the internet and none in the UK. Do you think these would be worth investing in? And would I be able to find them in the UK?Thanks in advance (: xo
I've seen them advertised in the UK but off hand can't remember where - Rideway? Derby House? IIRC they are expensive. You could probably use three equivalent rugs and pay less for them but they wouldn't match prettily. Depends whether you want economy or looks. On the basis that two or three thin layers are warmer than one thick one they should be a good idea. However, I don't have direct experience of this 3 in 1 rug. I've been at it for long enough to prefer economy as long as the performance is satisfactory. Along with others at the yard I use a Morrison's First Home duvet as an under layer indoors when it's very cold.
Q:Found it on rug after 2 nights, whats the best way to get it out?
The only wat is to cut a patch and replace it,you can use carpet in a closet ,cut a square the size of the stain ,than cut out the stained part and replace with the new.I don't think you'll have much luck trying to remove the nail polish with solvent or remover.
Q:I'm house sitting at my mom's friend's house and their dog threw up on carpet. I found some cleaning supplies but none for carpet.
Your house is situated in your mom's friends house . There have a dog and this dog threw up your carpet , But you don't know how to clean your carpet . You can buy a brass from market and clean your carpet , or you stop that's dog to come your home .
Q:i have just bought a thoroughbred who has a very fine coat despite the fact it is winter, he lived out at his previous home but with 2 rugs on. i want to continue having him living out but with so many rugs out there and not having to rug previous horses i am a bit confused! do you have any brands you recomend? how many rugs do you think he will need?i live in england so it can get a bit cold in the winter, i want to rug him because i would rather he keep his nice thin coat and also he is sued to being rugged and what with moving home and meeting all the new horses, not having a rug on might be a bit of a shock to the system!
I would definitely say that Weatherbeeta are the best brand for affordable but comfortable and hard wearing rugs. I've had my weatherbeeta rugs for two years and only had them washed, not reproofed even though one of my horses is a rug wrecker. I have a TB myself and I know how much of a pain it is to rug them! They are very prone to chills and don't really grow an incredibly fluffy coat. Here in scotland its already reached only 4 degrees at night and my hands are frozen, and plus the wind chill makes it a very cold night. My boys are both in mediumweights without necks at the moment at night and lightweights during the day. However this is also because they are getting clipped next week and I want to prepare them for that and not let them get too soft beforehand! For my TB I have this wardrobe - 1 x Lightweight (Mark Todd brand - very good durable, I would say the best out there) 2 x Mediumweight with and without a neck (both Weatherbeeta) 2 x Heavyweight with and without a neck (Mark Todd and Rambo - very good but very expensive brand) The two of the mediumweight / heavyweights mean that in the midst of winter when it gets absolutely FREEZING I can double rug, putting a mediumweight over a heavyweight or vice versa. I also have stable rugs but that depends on whether you are stabling them or not.
Q:What should be done if the carpet has water in and smell sour?
if the carpet is detachable, put it outside under the sun, if not, spray some freshener.
Q:Do I Put the floor base moulding in before or after I carpet.. It would make sense to do it before because after to patch up the nail holes and repaint it you dont have to worry about getting paint on the carpet but it wont looks as large as the carpet would cover up a portion of it.. So my question is what is the proper time to put it in? Thanks
Put the base boards on before the carpet is installed. If you ever need to replace the carpet in the future you wont have to remove all the base boards to do it. The carpet installer uses tack strips at all wall areas to hold the carpeting. Once the carpet is installed you will need to touch up the finish on the base boards do to some scratches that the carpet installer will cause. I'm a builder 30 years.
Q:I am redoing a room. Should it be painted before new carpeting? I want the baseboards nicely painted. Just not sure what should be done first.
My husband is a carpenter, actually a Assist Super on constructions sites - and our daughter is going through the same thing!!! Always do your wall painting first. Carpet/flooring is always the last thing to go in, then your base boards!!! Paint/Stain your base boards BEFORE you install them - then you don't have to worry about getting paint on your carpet. Install baseboards w/ finishing nails, after carpet is in! You can touch up your baseboards w/ caulk to cover the nail holes, let dry, which is very quick, maybe 1/2 hour, then touch up your nail holes w/ your paint/stain. Enjoy your new room from there!!!
