- No, it provides nothing to nail into, which is the purpose of studs and it has very limited strength if in a load bearing wall. And if you mean cutting a whole bunch of pieces and stacking them to get a 6 wide by 3.5 deep (like a 2x4) it would be a huge waste of materials and cutting blades. If you are looking for fireproof, consider metal studs. If you are looking for sound proofing, use offset stud techniques.

- 1, first clean the bathroom floor, in the sewer around the corridor around a clean, 2, buy high-molecular quartz sand beauty mud (waterproof type comes with a bag of 40 or so), please muddy wet floor and then approved flat. Sprinkle water 2 to 3 times before completely dry, although the glue does not dry like cement quickly, sprinkling is also necessary.

- You have a minor concern. Wear a respirator if possible. At least a dust mask. If the board was properly put down you also have to scrape up thin set under the board.Thin set also contains silica Plastic off all doors, cabinets vents ( hot and cold) and cover furniture. You ll do a better job at doing this than any one you hire. Or you cover it and hire some one. It s hard, very dusty job. Usually a one time deal isn t a concern ( as long as you take precautions) unless you have breathing problems. I ve dealt with doing this sort of work for 20+ years and no problem. - Q:Hi everybody! I just installed hardibacker boards in my bathroom. But I had to remove 1 pc 'coz I made a mistake. Can I still use it again? I screwed it every 8 inches around the edges and along every stud. Can I just cover the holes with thinset? Thanks!

- i about 95% sure you can install the cement boared right over the vinyl floor covering.go to hgtv and i am sure they will have your answer on there web sight but i am almost sure you can do it.
- Q:Installing tile in my laundry room. put down the cement board with a mortar/thin set base under it, then nailed it down according to manufacturer's instructions. The mortar/thin set totally dried then I had to do a few loads of laundry before I was able to put any tile down. Unfortunately one of the hoses hooked up to the washer leaked and soaked the cement board and I'm sure also the sub-floor. Do I need to rip out the cement board and re install before I install the tile? obviously I would need to ensure the floor is fully dry before I install the tile. Thanks
- I do not think you need to rip it out. Just let it dry for a week or so before you install the tile.

With vinyl siding, you can add a rigid foam insulation behind the siding prior to installation that will increase the R value and some high end vinly comes with a foam insulation already laminated to the back. Hardi Board makes a pre-painted siding that has a 15 year warranty on the paint job. It doesn't ding, crack, or blow off in a strong wind. Plus, it looks like authentic wood siding (but much less expensive) However, you will pay substantially more than vinyl siding. For most people it comes down to price. When given all the facts, fiber cement is by far the superior product but if its not in your budget then vinyl siding is a respectable alternative.
- Q:Hi i want to know if Durock cement board has zinc or lead. Because I made a aviary in my backyard where i know have my lovebirds and some have started giving me sign of lead/ zinc poisoning i would like to know if Durock has it and if it affects my birds thank you.
- If your birds are Parrot like Budgies etc , they are for ever nibbling at wood or anything else., Do you know the signs of Lead poisoning,Paralysis being the main one. Durock does contain minute particles but have you considered that it could be Mice droppings or mice urine contamination on their food as the symptoms are similar. Your birds must be actively eating the cement board, which you will be ble to see by the damage to the board. Otherwise you must contact a vet asap. Avian Care Consultant
