Q:Vacuum cleaners scare the crap out of me! I have to hold my breath before I turn one on. And my brother turned one on and came at me with it and I screamed... It's hilarious but I can't help it. If this is a real phobia could someone tell me the name of it? Hahahaha, thanks. =]

Q:are Henry Hound vacuum cleaners any good for getting dog hairs out of carpets?
I do not know about the Henry Hound but the DYSON Animal is great. I think it could suck the paint off the wall if I left it there long enough.
Q:I have the Miele now, and see that Kenmore was top rated by Consumer Reports.
Have used Kenmore for years, also based on C/R ratings. Mine is a cannister; works well on dog fur. As I recall, Miele's biggest problem was initial cost, so if it's working ok, stick with it, but if you NEED to replace it, go with Kenmore. (My sister-in-law, whose kids have asthma, also swears by Kenmore.)
Q:I am looking to buy a good, inexpensive hand-held vacuum cleaner for a friend who lives in a dorm at college. Her room doesn't have any carpeting (except for a rug), but the floor is not very clean. I know a lot of the ones I have looked at on the Target and Walmart sites are around $20. Are they any good? Which brand(s) do you prefer, and where can I find them? Please be specific! Thanks!
I work in a vacuum sales/repair shop and I believe the Dirt Devil classic or ultra vac are your best choices. They are bagless/bagged units. They are NOT cordless. They only corless I sell, is a high power unit for about $70. The DD will run about 40-60.
Q:I have a two piece standard Kenmore vacuum (not an upright vacuum but one of those that the hose attaches to the body). Anyways, I was vacuuming and then all of a sudden the roller quit spinning. I thought maybe some string or some other obstruction was preventing the roller from spinning or perhaps the belt broke. But I took everything apart and found out the motor doesn't spin. I can't even spin it manually. If I remember right shouldn't the motor be able to spin freely? My motor is stuck and won't spin and I can't find any obstruction preventing it from spinning.Any thoughts? And secondly, can you clarify if the motor should spin freely when the vacuum is turned off because I could have sworn that in the past if anything got wrapped around the roller (like string) I could easily unwind it.
That motor burned. Need a new one. Good luck...!
Q:whats the difference between vacuum cleaners in 1901 and vacuum now?
The motors and there size suction [amount of air moved] the first vac was a hand pump type you pulled up on a handle to get it to suck Electricity was a figment of some ones Imagination then I was born in 1939 and a lot of homes didn'tt have electricity then
Q:Should we men just replace women with vacuum cleaners?
Lonely men and their vacuum cleaners.... Why don't you just get an inflate-a-date. At least that can kind of look like a girl. But if you just wanna hook yourself up to a vacuum cleaner, go ahead, knock yourself out.
Q:thinking of buying an LG compressor vaccum cleaner, does anyone have reveiws of this product?
i dont have any idea for this but i will recommend u to go for an eureqa vaccumm clnr its more reliable and provides life time service free with no issues
Q:When were wet/dry vacuums invented?
Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa invented a vacuum cleaner in 1860, calling it a carpet sweeper instead of a vacuum cleaner. His machine did, in fact, have a rotating brush like a traditional carpet sweeper, and also possessed an elaborate bellows mechanism on top of the body to generate suction of dust and dirt. Hess received a patent (US No. 29.077) for his invention of the vacuum cleaner on July 10, 1860 British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth patented a motorized vacuum cleaner on August 30, 1901. Booth's machine took the form of a large, horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit, which was parked outside the building to be cleaned with long hoses being fed through the windows. Booth first demonstrated his vacuuming device in a restaurant that same year and successfully sucked dirt. More Americans inventors introduced variations of the same cleaning-by-suction type contraptions. For example, Corinne Dufour invented a device that sucked dust into a wet sponge; and, David Kenney designed a huge machine that was installed in a cellar and connected to a network of pipes leading to each room of a house. Of course, these early versions of vacuum cleaners were bulky, noisy, smelly, and unsuccessful.
Q:I need a new vacuum cleaner for my home. We DON'T have pets. I'd prefer a lightweight vac. We had the CR magazine issue with the reviews a few months back but I must've lost it or thrown it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I'm impressed with Dyson. It's not too heavy to drag around and it has no bags to empty. You just remove the top section and chuck out the dust. It does a brilliant job.
