Q:Can aluminum sheets be recycled?
Indeed, it is possible to recycle aluminum sheets. Aluminum stands as one of the extensively recycled substances globally due to its ability to be recycled incessantly without compromising its quality. The recycling of aluminum sheets entails melting them back to their initial form and subsequently molding them into fresh sheets or alternative aluminum commodities. This procedure demands markedly less energy when contrasted with the production of aluminum from primary materials, thus rendering the recycling of aluminum sheets an environmentally viable choice.
Q:When zinc dust and sulfur dust are combined in certain proportional ratios and ignited, a violent exothermic reaction occurs. Because the reaction only depends on two components; zinc and sulfur, but not oxygen, the reaction has all of the components that it needs within the mixture. The same is also true for a mixture of magnesium and sulfur. However, the same reaction does not occur with iron and sulfur. Instead, the mixture reacts slowly over a period of a few minutes rather than flashing to smoke in less than a second. Now for my questions:1: If aluminum and sulfur were combined in the same proportional ratios as the zinc and the magnesium mixtures were, would the reaction be as fast as the zinc and the magnesium mixtures? Why or why not?2: What properties of the different metals used in these mixtures makes them behave so differently?
the forged iron crucible will honestly be dragging the warmth away,so attempt to discover a ceramic crucible---you will possibly have the potential to discover them at any rings furnish domicile.you will additionally so discover commercially arranged fluxes for melting,if no longer Borax powder is a fluxing agent I generally use. With the small quantity of meral you're wishing to soften,i think of your MAPP torch ought to artwork,be confident to change the flame to a lowering flame to steer clear of gassing the metallic.the availability domicile RIOGRANDE has an entire inventory of something you are able to require besides as some preprepared alloys which you will choose to objective.
Q:on an hot day, which will stay cooler longer...aluminum, or copper? why?thanks!
copper aluminum’s conductivity is lower than copper.
Q:I have tried every possible method that I could find on the web for cleaning aluminum, tungsten, filler wire. Nothing has seemed to work. I've tried looking for leaks in the argon line. I'm getting decent welds but there is gunk in the welds for sure. I'm worried about overall strength of the welds. Does anybody out there know of a tried and true method for cleaning aluminum, tungsten, filler etc. that is sure to work? If I can follow that method and still have problems It could possibly be a problem with the machine. Any help would be much appreciated.
Preweld cleaning requires two operations: oil/grease removal and oxide removal. As below, remove oils and greases first, then remove the oxide. Don’t reverse this order. Take the following steps before welding aluminum: 1. Remove oil, grease, and water vapor using an organic solvent such as acetone or a mild alkaline solution like a strong soap. You may also use citrus-based degreasers, but be sure to rinse and dry the part before welding. 2. Remove surface oxides with a stainless steel wire brush (used only for aluminum) or strong alkaline or acid. Many welding suppliers sell oxide-removal solutions in spray or squeeze bottles for local application. Exercise extreme care when handling these solutions, and again, rinse and dry the part before welding. 3. Assemble the joint. If it won't be welded immediately, cover the joint with brown Kraft paper to prevent dirt and grit in the air from getting into the joint. 4. Keep the aluminum dry and at room temperature. 5. Weld within a few days. Clean the joint again if it isn't welded within that time. Good luck!!!
Q:I was quoted $5000+ to upgrade my house from 100A electric service to 400A. Part of the reason for the high cost is the cost of copper. What size copper wire is needed for 400A, and how much does it cost per foot? Would it be a lot cheaper to use aluminum wire?
Oh come on!! The question seems to be asking abotu replacing the service ENTRY cable to bump it up from 100 to 400 AMPS. Got news for you all. THe service entrace cable IS aluminum. It connects to the circuit breaker box at terminals designed FOR aluminum. Go take a look at any recent install and tell me what you see. (It will be AL) AS for the remainign wires throughout the house. Most will be copper. However note that modern outlets can be provided to accept aluminum and copper. Just look fot the AL/CU stamp ont he outlet. Generally the clothes dryer, over and A/C will use al wire but they are attached to outlets specifically designed for AL wire. Eric
Q:I am ultimately looking to have a bike that is good for both everday commuting and touring with panniers/racks long distance with camping. From what I've read on the internet steel frames are more forgiving and ride smoother. The guy at my local bike shop tells me aluminum frames have more flex and ride better. I don't know if he's just trying to make a sale (Giant dealer) or to trust him, unfortunately the staff there are all just racers not tourers. If you can recommend any brands/models to check out that'd be good. From my research thus far I am in love with Co Motion bikes, just not the price! I'm looking at $1000 max for a good touring bike. Thanks!
looks like the Americano series are equipped with tandem wheelset. That's heavy duty touring. I believe he is trying to make a sale. If aluminum flexes, then the result will be a crack. If steel decide to fail, it bends from fatigue, aluminum just snaps when it fails. Steel gives you a much noticeable warning. So...steel bends. It flexes when you put a lot of stress, but when you are touring, it's not likely your going to go all out like racers do when they pursue. Steel will absorb more of the road vibrations and shock. You might want to try a different shop if all they do is pitch Giant brand. BTW Giant is THE world largest bicycle manufacturer. They build bikes for different companies besides their own. So you never know where or what brand your really riding. There are many touring bikes out, but if you go by manufacturers then it is only limited to a few by brands. There is more options when you want a racer. Remember when choosing a touring bike to choose one with a good wheelset. I like wheels with 36 spokes or more, they take the brunt of the weight (rack, pannier, other accessories).

The aviation industry extensively employs aluminum due to its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, rendering it an ideal choice for constructing aircraft structures that are both lightweight and robust. Aluminum sheets are frequently utilized for aircraft panels owing to their durability, resistance to corrosion, and ease of fabrication. Moreover, aluminum can be effortlessly molded and welded, enabling the creation of intricate panel shapes. Furthermore, aluminum possesses commendable electrical conductivity, a crucial factor in the efficient operation of diverse aircraft systems. In summary, the utilization of aluminum sheets for aircraft panels plays a pivotal role in ensuring the aircraft's structural integrity and performance.
Q:There seems to be a load of buzz out there regarding the use of aluminum pots and pans. They apparently may cause Alzheimer’s or bone degeneration in women. I have some cast iron pans that I use when ever possible but they are not always practical. I’d like some of you kitchen pros to give me some sound advice regard the use of aluminum in the home kitchen. I know they are used in food service organizations.... I look forward to some informative replys. Thanks in advance.
The above answer is correct. The theory that aluminum is linked with alzheimer's has been proven untrue. Most every pot and pan is made with aluminum at it's core. Rarely do you find a pan with an aluminum cooking surface. Your food only touches the stainless steel or the nonstick. Honestly, it's ridiculous to worry about the aluminum inside your fry pan when you apply aluminum directly to your lymph nodes every morning in the form of anti-perspirant.... A pure stainless steel pan will not heat up without the help of copper or aluminum. Copper is pricey and requires elbow grease to keep it looking good. That leaves you with aluminum. almost 100% of pans in people's cupboards contain some amount of alum. , if they didn't, your water would never boil and your eggs would never fry.
Q:Are aluminum sheets available in different colors?
Yes, aluminum sheets are available in different colors.
