Q:What effect did this have?
I think Thoreau, who espoused the need for simplicity, was trying to show that an industrialized society enslaves man more than it frees man. Machines that are supposed to make our lives simpler can, in actuality, make it more complicated. For instance: cars. Cars are supposed to make getting from point A to point B easier. However, with the advent of the automobile society, point B can now be much farther away from point A than in the past. However, if your car breaks down, that is a problem in itself, because you must now repair the machine that is supposed to make life easier. On top of this, point B is now farther away from point A than in the past when there were no cars; so now point B is harder to get to because the machine that made it simpler to get to point B is out of service. Therefore, in my opinion, Thoreau used the metaphor of machinery to show how industrialization further complicates and worsens the quality of life, as opposed to making it easier.
Q:Who builds expanded metal machinery?
Why don't you try typing expanded metal machinery on yahoo.
Q:A) it was assembled from two anaerobic systems that had originated in different types of bacteriaB) it obtains electrons by splitting waterC) it involved a modified version of electron transportD) it evolved relatively late in the evolution of prokaryotes, sometime after eukaryotes had arisenE) it caused Earth's atmosphere to become an oxidizing one
D) seems wrong to me
Q:During viral R/DNA replication, do viruses take advantage of the cell's ordinary error checking mechanisms?
Think so as they do not possess
Q:why was machinery the most powerful weapon in the war of capital against the working class?
Yeah, lets destroy all automation...lol Idiot !
Q:On July 23 of the current year, Serena Mining Co. pays $4,612,500 for land estimated to contain 5,125,000 tons of recoverable ore. It installs machinery costing $512,500 that has a 10-year life and no salvage value and is capable of mining the ore deposit in eight years. The machinery is paid for on July 25, seven days before mining operations begin. The company removes and sells 490,000 tons of ore during its first five months of operations ending on December 31. Depreciation of the machinery is in proportion to the mine's depletion as the machinery will be abandoned after the ore is mined.how to calculate the first five months depreciation on machinery??
While the machinery has a ten year life, it will only be used for eight years and then become abandoned. So we first do $512,500 - $0 and then divide by 8 years to get $64,062.50. That's how much depriciation the machinery accumulates per year. Since we're looking for the first five months of accumulated depreciation, we take $64,062.50 and multiply it by (5/12) months. That comes out to $26,692.71.
Q:Do you have a promising future in the foreign trade of machinery industry?
To do foreign trade with technical content is more interesting than foreign trade with low technical content. If we understand technology and understand foreign trade, we will be competitive. Only the entry is difficult, when you start, you need to learn more, especially for the product itself.
Q:How to detect any problem in used machinery?
Understand and know what your looking at.
Q:I am involved in assessing equipment for a vehicle refurbishment workshop like lathe ,milling machine, crankshaft re grinder and so on.How old should these machines be to be considered obsolete(years)? Thanks
Something is only obsolete when you no longer have a use for it. As long as everything is in safe, working order and performs a useful function, it is not obselete. For woodworking, I still use large wooden clamps with wooden screws. They've gotta be like 30 years old, but they do exactly what I need them to do. If I got a strong, metal clamp, then the wooden one would be obsolete. Only replace what you need to replace.
Q:Hi, i'm 16 years old, and you're supposed to be 18 to operate a machine. My Dad OWNS a business and does welding/fabrication and all of that, and he was thinking that since he owns the business, and i'm his son, that legally, i can work at a lower age than 18? does anybody know if i would be able to work for my father at age 16? Thanks!
I grew up in the same situation and always was called a laborer even though I was doing some welding and learning the art of fabrication. I am not sure of the law but I say if you are interested in doing it, start as soon as you can and listen to as much knowledge as you can.
