If it's your egr valve than remove it clean it with carb cleaner. Blow through it before after cleaning the valve. See if you can tell any difference in the flow. If not, replace the valve. If it is an egr restricted flow problem it could be in the exhaust manifold flow. You would need to remove clean the manifold. Sometimes this can be difficult. You may need a wire brush to get into the smaller areas/ports under the manifold. Better left to a professional if you don't work on cars alot. Fuel additives will not do much for this. If you take it into a shop with a fuel system cleaning machine that will power flush the fuel rails, thottle body, etc. than that may help. If you can repost your question with the exact complaint I may be of more help.

The additives in both of these gases is designed to clean your engine valves of gunk. Gunk is a thick, black dirty kind of soot that collects on the engine valves which can cause the engine to run poorly after a while and eats more gas because they are dirty. They are not better gas, but it is the cleaning additives that are supposed to make them better for your engine because they keep the INSIDES of the engine cleaner. I have found that by using them, occasionally, they do clean the engine, keep it running smoother, and give just a bit better gas mileage. They cost more money, and so I use them and fill up with them from empty, if I feel my engine is getting a bit sluggish or the gas mileage is suffering, and they usually help. You do not need to use them 100% of the time, but it is good occasionally, when the tank is empty to fill it with Chevron or Shell, and then maybe a second tank full. It is also always better to stick to name brand, well know, gasoline. Cheap gas has no additives to clean your engine, and it can also be dirty which can clog your fuel pump, leading to engine failure.

Well all this is a good marketing ploy. I have found that it does not work either way. Here is why Lets say you have 20 gallons and it says to dump in 1 bottle of 16 ozs That means you dilute it down to mix it in 20 gallons. Not much cleaning can be done with that.
