bauxite, alumina or bauxite miner , main ingredients are aluminum oxide, hydrate alumina containing impurities,

is an earthy mineral.White or grey, brown yellow or light red by iron. From 4 to 3.9 g/cm3 density, hardness, 1 ~ 3, opaque, very brittle.

Very difficult to melt.Insoluble in water, soluble in sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide solution.Mainly used for aluminium, refractory material.

2.Main Features of Calcined Bauxite

Calcined bauxite is one of the principal ore of aluminum. Calcined bauxite contains hydrous aluminum oxides and aluminum

hydroxides, formed through the laterization of aluminous rocks in tropical and subtropical areas .Calcined bauxite is obtained by calcining (heating)superior grade bauxite at high temperature (from 85OC to 1600C) .This removes moisture there. By increasing the alumina content, compared to an alumina content of about 57%to 58% in raw bauxite, calcined bauxite has an alumina content of 84%to88%.The heating is carried out in rotary kilns.

Q:Where is refractory used? Thank you!
According to its refractoriness, it can be divided into ordinary refractory (1,580℃ to 1,770℃), high class refractory (1,770℃ to 2,000) and super refractory (above 2,000℃); according to chemical property, it can be divided into acid , neutral and alkali refractories, and including refractory used for special occasion. The current definition of refractory do not only depend on whether the refractoriness is above 1,580℃. At present, refractory is widely used as inorganic nonmetallic material of production equipment lining in metallurgy, petrifaction, cement, ceramics, power, etc. Refractory generally has good thermal shock resistance, chemical attack resistance, low thermal conductivity and coefficient of expansion, widely used in chemical, construction material, mechanical manufacturing, and ceramics, accounting for 50% to 60% in the total output. It can resist high-temperature action. Refractory has many varieties. Refractory materials are widely used in metallurgy; chemical properties divided by acidic refractories. In addition, cement, silicates. Refractoriness refers to that when cones sample made from refractory has no load. Currently, refractory refers to that is widely used in metallurgy, including neutral refractory and basic refractory.
Q:What is fire retardant coating mainly used for?
Fire retardant coating is a coating which is applied to the surface of buildings and structures and can form a protective layer of fire retardancy and thermal insulation. It can reduce the flammability of the coated materials and block the rapid spread of fire so as to improve fire endurance of the coated materials. Features of fire retardant coating: (1) Fire retardant coating itself has a flame-retardancy or non-inflammability, and it can prevent the protected substrate from direct contact with the air, and delay ignition and reduce the burning speed of the objects. (2) In addition to flame retardancy or non-inflammability, the fire retardant coating itself has a a low thermal conductivity, which can delay the transfer of flame temperature to the substrate to be protected. (3) When heating, fire retardant coating decomposes non-combustible inert gas to dilute the combustible gas decomposed by the protected, making it difficult to burn or slow down the burning rate. (4) Fire retardant coating containing nitrogen will decomposite NO, NH3 and other basic groups, which compound with the organic radicals and interrupt the chain reaction so as to reduce the temperature. (5) intumescent fire retardant coating will expand and foam when heating, and form a carbon foam insulation to block the protected objects, thus delaying the transmission of heat to the substrate.
Q:Why should graphitic refractory materials be used now that graphite can burn?
C is inactive in nature. Carbon will not burn unless the temperature is about 2000℃, so it can't be lit generally. Coal can be lit because it contains other combustible substance which ignite carbon indirectly. While graphite, carbon black, is more pure and dense than coal., so it is hard to oxidize.Their molecular structures are also different, just like diamond is harder than graphite.
Q:What is the role of the vermiculite fireproof material?
It can be widely used in construction, decorative ceiling, wall, floor and fireproof door . Especially suitable for airport, railway station, passenger terminal, exhibition hall, hotels, shopping malls, hotels, and other public places and factory, fuel warehouses which have high requirements for fire proofing, etc. With its special thermal insulation, it can also be made to the various types of heat insulation board offered to machines (such as a variety of industrial furnace and assembly line equipment) and furniture, etc. Due to the low density of the product itself, a lot of shipyards in foreign countries use it as ceiling, wall and deck, so the development potential of the domestic shipbuilding market is huge.Expanded vermiculite is porous, lightweight, and dystectic, the most suitable for insulating materials at high temperature (below 1000℃) and fire insulation materials. In the experiment, 15cm- thick cement vermiculite burns for 4-5 hours under 1000℃, but the back temperature is only 40℃. 7 cm-thick vermiculite slate burns for 5mins through the fire flame welding net under 3000℃, the frontage melted, but you don’t feel hot with your hands holding the back side. According to aforementioned, vermiculite slate is superior than all insulating material, such as asbestos, and diatomite products.
Q:For refractory, why is it necessary to store the first mixing materials for some time under proper moisture and temperature?
It is mainly to remove gas form chemical reactions in the pug, give full play to plasticity and binding properties of combined, and store unburned brick whose cememting agent is phosphoric acid or aluminium phosphate for some time under proper moisture and temperature. For example, to avoid the formed bricks in the initial stage of drying and firing form cracking due to hydration of calcium oxide. Mixing materials is to store the first mixing materials for some time under proper moisture and temperature in order to improve the evenness and moldability of pud, such as making the distribution of combined clay and water more even. The length of storing chiefly depends on the process requirements and the characteristics of blanks. For the producing pug of high temperature kiln furnitures, the storing time is longer. The function of storing mxing materials varies with different natures of blanks. For honeycomb ceramics, it is to fully digest calcium oxide in blanks. For storing magnesia brick blanks containing much calcium oxide, it should be stored for some time in proper humidity and temperature.
Q:As for fireproofing material rock wool and glass wool, which one is better?
Rock wool board and glass wool board are a kind of new construction thermal insulation material, it's widely applied in construction and has replaced traditional thermal insulation material to some degree. With the gradually deepening study of rock wool board, glass wool board, we can find that these insulation materials have advantages in many aspects but there are also many deficiencies, particularly there exists a lot of controversy about the impact on the human body. The production process of rock wool board and glass wool board usually includes: after melting in high temperature of rock or glass, inorganic fiber is produced by high-speed centrifugation equipment, and at the same time add binder, dust laying oil, silicone oil at certain proportion, then produce sheet material according to different requirements. It has good thermal insulation properties, mechanical property, sound absorption characteristics, belong to incombustible material and is cheap. In general, insulation, security and economy should not be contradictory, three aspects should be taken into account, balanced chosen and developed. Rock wool board and glass wool board and other such materials should be properly selected and applied to the appropriate structure, so that the choice of material will play their strengths and avoid their weaknesses.
Q:What are the filling refractories in door leaf of class A fire resistant door?
Magnesium chloride, magnesium oxide, perlite and other mixtures.
Q:What are the types of advanced refractory?
it can be divided into two categories of general and special refractories ordinary refractories by chemical properties into acidic, neutral and alkaline. Special refractory composition divided by high temperature oxide, refractory compounds and high-temperature composite materials Furthermore, according to refractoriness can be divided into ordinary refractory products (1580 ~ 1770 ℃), advanced refractory products (1770 ~ 2000 ℃) and grade refractory products (2000 ℃ above). the article can be divided into blocks (standard bricks, shaped bricks, etc. ), special shape (crucible, sagger, pipe, etc.), fibrous (aluminosilicate, zirconia and boron quality, etc.) and a random shape (refractory clay, pouring materials and ramming mixes, etc.) according to the sintering process it can be divided into sintered products, cast products, melt blown products.
Q:Does anyone know about the fire resistance period of thin fireproof coatings?
Outdoor thin steelwork fireproof coatings have a fire resistance of 2.0 hours, the thickness of coatings is between 4.5 to 5 mm, the standard amount is 5.5 to 6kg per square meter. Specific situations vary according to the thickness data provided by manufacturers . The fireproof coatings are applicable for the surface of combustible substrates, which can reduce the flammability of the surface being painted, and block the rapid spread of fire. They can be used to improve the fire resistance of the materials being painted. The fireproof coatings are coated on the substrate surfaces. They are also rustproof, waterproof, wearproof, heatproof and anticorrosive apart from flame retardant. They have good tenacity, stainability, adhesiveness, glossiness and fast-drying nature.
Q:Which kind of refractory floor is easy to use? ?
Fireproof wood floor includes three types, and according to your requirement, I think that the third type is more suitable or is easier to use. Here are the three types, and you can choose form them. A. Wear-resistant composite solid wood floor It is also known as super durable multi-layer solid wood floor. Its surface is inorganic glass fiber material and special paper impregnation thermosetting amino resin, composited with solid wood base materials like plywood or core-board. And also, its front is wear-resistant layer while the back is balance layer, then hot press it into grooved and tongued floor. This is a new impregnated paper laminate floor. It also has the same wear-resistant quality as laminate floor, comfort as solid wood floor, and stability as composite board. B. Fire-resistant wood-plastic composite decking board Wood-plastic composite decking board is not the wood floor in the traditional sense, but a composite material, also known as plastic wood. It is formed by high molecular improving and processing natural fiber, such as recycled plastic and wood fiber. It not only has the same advantages as plastic and wood, but alos has certain fire resistance, thus it is a environmentally friendly material with much development potential. C. Fireproof strengthened composite wood floor It is the so-called fireproof and fire retardant floor, fiber board, plywood and chipboard as its base materials. It is coated with fireproof coating and impregnated paper, and after fireproof and fire retardant technical process, it becomes a composite wood floor with some fire retardant level. Its features are more partial to that of laminate floor with stable performance, steady structure and good durability.
