FAQ

Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?

The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.

Which attachments should I look out for?

Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.

I have a large house? What should I look out for?

Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.

Q:Hans Klobber sells vacuum cleaners. He gets to keep one eighth of his sale as a commission. How much must he sell in order to earn $1000?
He must sell $8000 because if he kept one eighth of it, he would have $1000
Q:i've had several different vacuum cleaners and the belt keeps breaking, I have no pets, but I have long hair but still, should the belt be so fragile?
Vacuum Cleaner Drive Belts
Q:Can anyone please help me! I am soooo serious here...I have purchased two vacuum cleaners and they both SUCK. Bissel allergy one with the canister that you empty...It does not vacuum well at all, I can pick up stuff off the carpets better that the that. And then I bought a eureka vacuum from costco, not only is it hard to push, 4 months the screw came off the handle and is in the vaccum itself.....It is supposed to be industrial, and it is with a bag....and NEVER ever have I seen such scrap....I have new carpets so that is not the problem here...I also have pets....I do not want a tyson 3000 or whatever they are called...although they say they are good, and after what I have spent in these 2 vacuums I should have bought the tyson...So any suggestions or what you like would be appreciated...I am just fed up with picking up JUNK :PThanks you all..
I have to second Elaina's vote for a Eureka Boss vacuum cleaner. I bought one two weeks ago and have already fallen in love with it. It has attachments to dust furniture, get in cracks/crevices, clean stairs, clean upholstery/drapes and more. The only flaw I've found in it so far is that it is difficult to maneuver the foot pedal that lets the vacuum recline. I think that might get easier after I use it for a while and break it in. My vacuum works great on berber carpet, tile floors, and split brick floors. Can't beat that!! It was also listed in the consumer magazine as a best buy. Good luck in your quest!
Q:my mom has a vacuum cleaner that is electrical and has a filter that our suppose to dump and well shes gone threw tons of vacuum cleaners and just gave up and is keeping this one well it gets clogged up and a lot of areas and her birthday is coming up and i would like to fix it for her so she doesn't have to put up with it any more what do i do?
First of all, unless your mother is very enthusiastic about her vacuuming, don't fix it for her birthday. Take her out to dinner, buy her a nice pair of slippers and her favorite perfume. Not a vacuum. All you can do is clean it out as much as you can. Look for larger objects that may have been sucked in and remove them. If it is clogged with a bunch of hair from someone or some pet, try and stop that hair from reaching the floor. Combing your pet on a regular basis and throwing away the hair not only helps your animal in the summer heat, but also keeps the hair off the floor. Good luck, and find a better gift for your mom than a working vacuum.
Q:Which of the following is a physical separation method and which are chemical changes? Match classification with the process. A. physical separation B. chemical change Aboiling an egg ABair filters in vacuum cleanersABoil filters in cars ABcatalytic converters in cars
physical separation= air filters in vacuum cleaners, oil filters in cars. chemical separation= catalytic converters in cars and boiling an egg.
Q:My partner and I recieved two vacuum cleaners for Christmas and want to return one to the store. Which one should we keep and which should we return?Brand: VoltaName: GeminiModel: U4504Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: 7.5kgUses: BagsBrand: KambrookName: Jaguar KompactModel: KVC30Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: UnsureUses: BagsBest answer will be chosen ASAP =)
I work at a vac store and I've never heard of either brand. Its hard for me to say for sure not being familiar with the companys or products.(USA) My best advice is to call their customer service lines and see who is the most willing to help you. A compnay that produces a good product will have good customer support to stand behind it. Make up a problem and see how eager they are to solve it. e.g. you are having trouble putting it together. Pick the one that takes care of you the best. You can also look to see where the machine is manufactured. Stay away from chinese, and korean. Look to see if the parts that are going to take abuse(brushroller, bottom plate, tools, wheels) are made out of durable material(ABS plastic or metal). Last you can call local vac shops, try a few different ones, tell them you were interested in purchasing those vacs and you wanted to know if they sold them and what their opinion was on them.
Q:Should we men just replace women with vacuum cleaners?
I vote no... but you can **** all the vacuums you want.. do you want to borrow mine.. I think there is different levels you can put it at
Q:Are Roomba's good vacuum cleaners?
My latest one is more heavy duty then the first. Gee two Yes I love it. Simple enough to run it every day and definitely better to clean daily then haul out the Big vacuum once a week. Glides from carpet to wood floor to area rugs and ceramic tiles easily. It does tend to chew up the fringe on rugs so I just got rid of those. Love it and would not do without. Picks up gravel, cheerios, dust and tumbleweeds if need be
Q:I've tried Bissell, and nothing works like my 14 yr old Dirt Devil. I cannot get filters for that anymore tho......I want something that doesn't kick sand up on my feet, I NEED SUCTION. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I own a cleaning service, and what we use are called backpack vacs. You can get them at your local vacuum cleaner store for around $200 on up.You can google backpack vacuum cleaners and see the various models and price range. This type of vacuum has strong suction and its easy to use. This vacuum is for HARD FLOORS ONLY so it doesn't have a brush roller that scratches wood floors like most uprights. My cleaning crews love this vac for vacuuming pet fur. Good luck!
Q:What is the development status of vacuum cleaners?
Since the late 1990s, sales of vacuum cleaners in China have risen at an annual rate of 38%
