- The longer wiper usually goes on the driver side. it really doesn't matter though, it's a one inch difference and it's not going to make a difference and mess something up. you could use two 21's and be fine.

The drivers side windshield wiper arm is not giving any pressure towards the windshield anymore this was because we were kidding around and someone ended up pulling the whole thing down. it is a 1987 chevrolet celebrity. motor and everything else works fine im just getting no pressure on the window so its not making full contact.what can I do myself? please dont say see a mechanic because that is a last resort for me.im looking for help here :)thanks!
- The pressure on the blade is derived from an over center spring under the arm attached to stops at either end. The works of the spring is to either hold the arm way up off the glass for wiper service, or to apply pressure to the scraper blade allowing it to roll over according to the direction of travel. If the spring has become stretched beyond it's working range, it will appear normal and Must be replaced as an assembly. If it is missing same fix. But if it is there and not mounted, you might be able to reattach it. Caution as you can get cut trying to fix it.
- Q:So my driver side wiper stopped working and upon inspection I saw that the pivot had came off of the wiper motors arm. I looked into the pivot and the bushing is broken. But the pivot did snap back into place with the motor and the wiper works again. My question is how long do you think it‘ll last me? Apparently I have the replace the whole thing because the bushing isn‘t sold separately. I‘m gonna try a few junk yards and see if they have it but until then I have no choice but to drive around with the bushing broken.

- Q:When it‘s freezing rain, my instincts are to pull up my windshield wipers so they don‘t get stuck to the windshield. Someone told me that this can cause the wires inside the plastic coating to break. Is this okay to do this, or should I leave them against the windshield?
- the assumption of it being undesirable is that sturdy wind and freezing rain can wreak havoc on them sitting up like that. it may harm the arm that holds the blade and such. certainly I on no account had subject with it, yet I sparkling my BLADE OFF to boot. Wipe them off and get the ice off of them.
- Q:I had to disconnect the wiper switch to shut them off, at first I thought it was the switch because it was already lose and it would turn on by itself sometime. But then I bought a new switch and it still does the same thing when I connect it. Could it be a relay or something else??? I also noticed there was a change on the beeping sound the car makes when a door is open, please help I really hate connecting and disconnecting the switch to turn of the wipers. Note: wiper fuses are good and wiper switch has been replaced.
- Look into a Wiper Module, this is what would let you use the delay and could let it run with the switch off. So look for a Wiper Module for it, you could even try Wiper Delay Module. This is off my head quickly but I should be correct.

- The motor should be mounted directly to the firewall of the vehicle and should not move when the wipers are turned on. When you turn the wiper switch on, do you hear the motor trying to move the wipers? If not, you may have something as simple as a blown fuse. If the fuse is OK, but you still don't hear anything when the switch is turned on, then the controller board for the wiper motor may be shot.
- Q:We have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and every time it rains the wipers kind of drag on the windshield. My husband replaced them already and it‘s still doing it. He thinks it‘s the motor but is there anything we can do to see what the problem is before we invest in a new motor? A few times when it was raining and it was on high speed the wipers would pause for about 3 seconds then go again. The highest level would do about the job of the medium speed level. If anyone can help me that‘ll be great. I appreciate it. :)
- It certainly sounds like the windshield wiper motor is beginning to seize up. I had the same problem with my Chevy truck when it hit the 10 year old mark. Too many people suspect electrical or switch problems which is very rarely the case. The windshield wiper system is pretty simple in design. I would replace the wiper motor assembly before your wipers stop completely. It's not very fun to try driving without wipers in a down pour! Good luck!
