Q:could take out fuse and put in new one and worked on high now it blows every fuse i put in it.tried with everything turned off (radio, heater.etc)even when engine off as soon as i started it blowed the fuse.is it the whole motor needs replaced ???was told there is some kind of relay switch in it but dont know for sure.any ideas?? suppost to start raining tomarrow.
It sounds like the wiper motor to me. it could have shorted out and now it's stuck with the jumper switch on the inside of the motor to ON. Try to unplug the motor wiring harness and then replace the fuse if it has a short it should blow the fuse right away if it does not plug in the wiper motor wiring back in and if it blows the fuse, then it's a faulty motor and needs to be replaced. I never replace them with a used motor cause you never get the same kind of warranty as if you bought one with a good warranty. I have aways said you get what you pay for! Roy Boy Toy
Q:Ok, we had a blizzard today and what would normally be a 20-30 minute drive turned into 2 1/2 hours. My 2005 Chevy Cavalier wipers froze up and stopped working! Why?! And how do I prevent it from happening again?
It's so they won't freeze to the windshield. If the wipers aren't stuck in the ice then it's easier to scrape the windshield.
Q:I just bought a used 2001 Monte Carlo and the window wipers stay up all the time. They work, but when I stop using them they go back to being parallel. Does anyone know how to fix this or has had the same problem with their wipers and knows how to fix it?? Please help!!
It sounds like the wiper has come loose and needs repositioning. Take the wipers off and operate the wipers and when they stop attach the wipers to the motor and try them and they should be fine.
Q:I drive a 98 Honda CR-V and accidentally left the wipers on when I shut the car off. Came back and started up the car to warm it up and the wipers went off and tried to push the snow off of the windshield - now the driver‘s side wiper doesn‘t work. It twitches a little bit but won‘t move at all. How much will this cost to repair (I am in Massachusetts) and is it possible to fix myself? I‘m not even entirely sure what is broken.
Everybody says buy new blades, right ? Well lets see if we can fix the problem first. Go to the spot where the wiper arm is mounted to the car, lift the plastic cover off and you should see a nut holding down the wiper arm. Usually 12 mm could be 13mm , take it off, and lift the wiper arm all the way back. ( 90 o to the windshield) There should be grooves running lenghtwise on the shaft part that is tapered. Wipe those clean with a rag or wire brush. NOT your fingers. Spray oil helps loosen the pieces. Try and clean the hole on the wiper arm. Chances are the grooves on the arm are now being scraped off the shaft. Its a kind of safety so you dont burn out the motor in case of what just happened. A new arm would be the best bet $15-40 most jobbers. But in a pinch just wrap a small piece of aluminum foil 3/8 x 3/4 around the splined section of the shaft and reinstall the old arm , make sure that the wipers are ' Parked ' before putting it together, leave the arm up when you first test it. Remember to remove the tin foil when you put the new arm on. This is only a quick fix and may well last years, but I make no such claim. Fix it right and get a new arm
Q:windshield wipers squeak and they are not that old or cheap. Is there something to put on them?
Wash the wipers deeply, not casually, with alcohol. It won't harm them like WD40 will. If that doesn't work try a cloth soaked in gasoline and rub them well with that - use rubber gloves and don't smoke! If none of that works try washing your windshield with baking soda and water, wipe that off well, then try windex or vinegar too. I do not recommend WD-40 as it can leave a bad residue on your windshield and break down the rubber of the wipers.
Q:What makes a Windshield Wiper Squeak?
You probably want to look at swamp buggies. Anything that big is unknown territory in motorcycle world
Q:How do Windshield Wipers Work?
Utilizing friction, and motion, the rubber blade, for all intents and purposes scrapes the water off of the windshield without causing the windshield any harm. When the rubber begins to deteriorate, ripping, shredding, or weakening, the wiper fails to scrape all the water off, leaving moisture on the windshield and impairing visibility. Hope this helped, Danny
Q:Parts: Floor mat, Windshield wiper, plastic cover for the light on inner roof, center arm rest, cig lighter. I live in Milford, Ohio.
Autozone or any GM dealer
Q:I notice that it only stops working when it is cooler outside i don‘t know what is wrong any suggestions once again it is not the fuse.
Many Fords have a module (like a mini ecu) that control functions such as lights, wipers and power locks. You may have to replace this module - I have seen this problem before. You will probabally have to take it to a Ford dealer to have it checked with a their scan tool. Most aftermarket scan tools do not have the advanced manufacturer specific functions to diagnose this.
Q:So yeah, my windshield wipers dont work and I live in Honolulu, and it is raining hard here and when it rains, it freaking pours. I tried driving but i got one block and couldnt see anything so I had to come home.I want to know if anyone here knows any way that I can keep my windshield clear in the rain without using the wipers. I am going to go to Walmart to get window wax so the rain will slide off the glass, but do you know any other way or if that way works? Please let me know, cause right now I am stuck.
