The only way to buy a lightweight 27 wheel would be to have them built as a custom item by a custom wheel builder. The other issue id tires. Since there is so little demand for 27 tires it would be hard to find lightweight tires. If your bike were able to accept 700c wheels you would have lots of choice. Keep in mind that lightweight wheels are expensive, figure on spending a minimum $500-$600. Really high end wheels sell for thousands of dollars per set. 3 pounds for a set of wheels is not very heavy, that would be less than 1400 grams which is very lightweight. Was that figure for a set, or for only one wheel?
