Q:I mean like Subaru's, which have 4 wheels, yet say they have "all wheel drive"
My wife's Honda CR-V was AWD and it was little better than front wheel drive. The rear wheels only engaged (slightly) after the front wheels spun for a long time. We traded for a Hyundai Santa Fe that was 4WD. It is amazing. The front wheels never get the chance to spin. Then you have 4X4 like my Ford Ranger pickup. When you put it in 4X4 and make a sharp turn the wheels skid and hop up and down because they all have full power all the time. The driver selects between 2X4, 4X4 high range and 4X4 low range. I love the low range for pulling my trailer out into the field or driving on jeep roads. On extreme driving it does the best. But, I do like the 4WD of the Santa Fe for daily driving, snow, etc..

Q:My steering wheel vibrates when driving, I think I have a bent wheel on the right side. I‘m in the process of saving up some money to get a new one. (im poor) what would be a temporary fix for this? I would put the bent wheel and tire on the right rear away from the driver and should decrease what you feel and your steering wheel shouldn't shake anymore. Then when you get a chance have the wheel fixed or replaced and then have the alignment checked. Some of the vehicles I have worked on have had wheels bent so bad that I had to put them on the rear just so I could align them.

First, keep in mind that only ONE wheel should have power to it or when you turn the outside wheel will skid around and might make you lose control. If you are planning to use a standard wheel for the drive wheel, take the bearings out then tighten the cones right into the hub body. REALLY tight. Add a locknut on both ends of the axle. The next question is, how are you planning to drive that wheel without a LONG axle that extends to the chainline? Were it me doing this I would use a piece of 3/4 diameter (19mm) heavy gauge tubing and have it welded to the hub, then work out a differential that houses the bearings at both ends. Unless you are very good at this type of thing I am afraid you'll discover that it would be cheaper to buy a ready-made trike. I just thought of something that would be really cool. how about modelling a big bike after a kiddies bike- with pedals on the front wheel? That would solve all your problems- just make crank arms that'll fit the front wheel and also act as the axle.
