Q:i know the odds are 1 in 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 of a perfect bracket, but any1 ever heard of some1 actually getting one in a big pool or online or just anywhere?
i never heard of anyone getting a perfect bracket its just impossible or a better yet a really low percentage of getting a perfect bracket since its so unpredictable
Q:I got my braces, last week. I was eating a sandwich and it just broke,5 hours after I got my braces. That was on my right side. You see my brackets are glued almost on my gum since my teeth back there are really low. So about 5 minutes ago, I noticed my bracket broke in the SAME exact place on the left side. I don't know how long it's been like that, I just felt it. Can I just put some wax over it. My next appointment isn't until April 20.
Well, firstly, I would question you eating a sandwich just a few hours after you got your braces. That's not the smartest thing to do. Secondly, that the bracket fell off at the same place implies that the orthodontist is at fault. Perhaps you should ask if it was fastened correctly? You may wait until your next appointment, but only if you wish to ruin your treatment plan. That is, unless you wish to start anew next month and thereby extending the time you're going to wear the braces by a month. Dental wax is a temporary solution. I suggest you schedule a new appointment as soon as possible.
Q:I have an assignment for school that I can't quite grasp. I am supposed to expose 14 total images of 2 different scenes and use bracketing on MANUAL mode. The 1st part of the assignment is supposed to be exposed as follows:Aperture Half (1st part)-1: 1/25 @ f29-.7: 1/25 @ f25-.3: 1/25 @ f22MIE: 1/25 @ f20+.3: 1/25 @ f18+.7: 1/25 @ f16+1: 1/25 @ f14 AND the 2nd part:Shutter Half (2nd part)-1: 1/800 @ f10-.7: 1/640 @ f10-.3: 1/500 @ f10MIE: 1/400 @ f10+.3: 1/320 @ f10+.7: 1/250 @ f10+1: 1/200 @ f10Now, I am not asking for anyone to do it for me. I don't understand how to do get these settings on MANUAL mode and these must be shot in MANUAL mode. I have never used bracketing before, so I am a little confused on that too. Everything that I have found tells me how to do this using AUTO settings. So, any help would be great.
Bracketing just means shooting a scene at a range of exposures, a technique used when you're not quite sure what the best exposure is. All you have to do is set the camera to the specified exposures and shoot. Your camera will also do automatic bracketing for you, but that's not the point of this exercise.
Q:I don't chew a lot of gum, if I do it's for a short time. i don't eat any hard foods. i normally eat stuff like rice, chips, noodles, pasta, crisps(sometimes) and my bracket becomes loose and eventually falls out into my mouth so I just take it out and put it into a tissue. it's happened like 3 times now. the first time it was the bracket right at the back on my top set of teeth, and the 2nd time it was the same one and now the third time it's my bottom set of teeth right at the back. the orthodontist glues it very weirdly, so maybe it's that? I don't know. they keep telling to be careful and they keep shouting at me. and threatning me that they'll take my braces off. but it's not my fault. what should I do?
They can't threaten you, since you ARE paying for it. Just tell them that you are following all the instructions and it keeps happening.
Q:I am in the 15% tax bracket for my ordinary income and I made $100,000 worth of capital gains from selling stock. How would I be taxed if these were all short term gains or all long term gains? Does this increase my ordinary income tax rate? Would I still be taxed capital gains tax of 15% short and 0% long or does this large amount affect my regular tax rate? Thanks
Long-term gains do not affect your ordinary income tax rate. Your short-term gains and your ordinary income are taxed at whatever rate would have applied if your short-term gains had been ordinary income. If they were all short-term gains, then you would be taxed the same as if all your income was ordinary income. The amount of long-term gains that are taxed at 0% is limited to the amount of ordinary income that you could have and still be in the 15% bracket, minus the amount of ordinary income that you did have. For example, if you have $15,000 each in ordinary income, short-term capital gains, and long-term capital gains, for a total of $45,000 and the maximum amount of ordinary income that you could have and still be in the 15% bracket was $40,000 (not the real figure), then you would (1) subtract $40,000 from $45,000 to determine the amount of long-term gain taxed at 15% was $5,000, (2) pay 0% on the other $10,000 of long-term gain, and (3) on the short-term gains and ordinary income, pay whatever your tax would have been if you had $30,000 in ordinary income and no capital gains.
Q:I keep getting varied answers, so it seems most people aren't too sure themselves. For example, I was told that the Carter 70% tax bracket for the rich was NOT a 70% revenue collection from say one million dollars, but a surplus collection until the income was 300,000 or less. Can someone explain how this really works? Thanks : )
Each bracket has a range. The part of your taxable income that's within that range is taxed at that rate. If for example there were two brackets, 10% for 0-40,000 and 20% for over 40,000 (NOT actual numbers by the way) then your taxable income up to 40K would be taxed at 10%, and the amount over 40K at 20%. So if your taxable income was 50k, your tax would be 10% of 40K plus 20% of the additional 10K, for a total or 4000+2000 or $6000.
Q:I am considering working a second job to increase my income somewhat before Christmas. At my main job I earn $50k a year pre-taxes. How much can I earn with a side job before my tax bracket jumps? If I were to work an extra 10 hours a week in a side job that pays approximately $10 an hour, will this result in increased income, or would it be a waste of time due to increased taxes?
It is never a waste of time to earn more income. I think you are misunderstanding something about tax brackets. Yes, we are all in a bracket of taxes based on our total income for the year. But not all of our income is in that tax bracket. The first money for all of us is taxed at 0% - up to the amount of our standard or itemized deductions plus all of our personal and dependent exemptions. Then the next bunch is taxed at 10% and then the next bunch at 15% and then the next bunch at 25% and so on. If you make it to the 25% bracket for example, that does NOT mean the they suddenly tax ALL of your income at 25%. It just means the last of your money will be taxed at 25%. So if you are thinking of adding another source of income like a job, and it does push you from the 15% to the 25% bracket for example, that only affects the new money from the new income source. All of the money from your primary income will still be taxed partly at 0, partly at 10%, and partly at 15%. So the worst you could do in this example (being in the 15% bracket but near the 25% bracket with your primary income) is to have some of the additional income taxed at 15% (until you reach the beginning of the 25% bracket) and the rest taxed at 25%.
Q:I want to set up my camera (Nikon D80) to take 3 exposure bracketed images, but only press the shutter button once. In other words, I want the 3 images to be taken automatically. At the moment, I can set the camera to take the 3 images, but I have to press the shutter down 3 times. Ideally, I'd like to go beyond that and set the camera (on a tripod) onto timer and let the camera take all 3 images without me touching it while the exposures are being takenYou help is greatly appreciated!!
Do you want auto bracketing for HDR? If so when you select the auto bracketing mode the camera will take the number of frames you selected with one shutter press, a cable remote (cheap to buy off OKorder) is better than using the timer as you can select the moment to take the frames rather than trying to guess if the view will still be open (people and such) a few seconds later. You can set auto bracketing for 3 frames with no exposure compensation if you want. Some entry level Nikon's don't have this auto bracketing function, I really don't understand why Nikon - and only Nikon - cripple their entry level cameras this way, but I believe the D80 does have auto bracketing with 2 or 3 frames.
