Q:Does anybody know if you can hook a battery pack (jumperleads) up to a normal strand of fencing wire?: No you can't, your battery will short out.

Q:Can I use an 800mAh 7.4v 10c on an rc plane when it calls for an 800mAh 7.4v 20c? What are my risks if I do use the 10c pack? Any help would be appreciated (:: 10c determines the power of the battery so unfortunately you can't send a baby to kill a wolf. you can't put a 10c on your model because the battery wouldn't have enough force (or amps ) to push those motors around. At first (first 2 minutes) it would be fine but then it would overheat and possibly swell in fact, you would hear the motors slowing down please do not try to do this because if a lipo battery swells it could catch in fire. If you have a swollen battery please discard it as soon as you can, not in your trash can but outside where fire will not do any damage. the procedure of discarding a swollen battery is to put some water and lots of salt in a cup that you won't use anymore and then drop the battery in the cup and see how many bubbles form when there is no more bubbles comming out of the battery, you can discard such battery because it doesn't have any voltage and it's harmless. better buy a 20C battery which can give more amps than a 10c battery. i made this mistake in the past lol.

Q:I will have the battery hooked to the receiver through an ESC, but will it still be too much voltage for the receiver to handle?The receiver is a Spektrum AR-500.: Too much voltage. Strong risk of burning up the circuits in the Spektrum AR-500. I wouldn't do it.

Q:how long will it run for on a 5 amp battery pack: Commonly the amp-hr rating of a battery is at a 20hr discharge rate ( 0.25A or 3W for a 12V, 5Ah battery) and capacity tends to be less at a higher discharge rate. Also it is bad for a rechargeable battery to completely discharge it, so 2 or 3 hours might be realistic.

Of course the size and number of cells in a 12 volt (nominal) pack will vary with the chemistry. Your motor draws a fraction of the current that a drill motor under load would use. At a 30% duty cycle, your motor would average .09 amps or 90 mA. You could reasonably expect about 20 hours of use from a fully charged battery in good condition without fully depleting it. Don

If it is a year old (of fairly continual use), then it is shot. Rechargeable battery packs don't last forever. If the pack is new, then the charging circuit inside the DVD player is shot. There is one possibility, that the connection points from the battery to the player are oxidized. If you can get to the little metal points that make the connections from the battery pack to the player (on both the battery pack and the player); take a pencil eraser and rub the metal to shine it up. That might help. If not, the charging circuit is shot. Sorry. .

Q:i have the regular battery pack, i use (2) AA batteries . even after a brand new set it keeps turning off, please help me: The 360 controller does turn off after a while of inaction, so after a long pause for something like a cutscene, it turns off. Also batteries lose there charge over time even if you aren't using them, so if they aren't new from the store from the last year or two you might want to try to buy a brand new pack and try those out, and even with a brand new pack of batteries, the 360 still can only get 20-30 hours of play out of it depending how much it rumbles and stuff like that. The only other option is to get a new controller.
