I know it is supposed to screw into the steerer but there is something smaller that the top cap screws intoIs it supposed to screw into a nut?
If your fork has a steel or aluminum steer tube, there will be a star nut inside the fork which you use to secure the top capIf your fork has a carbon steer tube there will be an expander nut inside the steer tube that will serve the same purpose
I know, I know.a movie line is the last place one should pick up cooking tips, but I love love love to cook and I had no idea that you could steam flounder in the dishwasherAnyone know how?
How about that question? Terrific and it can and does work very wellThe first time I had the dish was at a friend's home and his wife served itShe knows we cook for a living and was very careful about what she preparedI was astounded, inquired about the dish and said how great it was and when she told me it was cooked in a dishwasher, after disbelief went away, I slurped my wine and listenedHere's what she told meShe wrapped the filets - not the whole flounder, just the filets - first in parchment paper, available most places, then wrapped it again tightly in aluminum foil and placed the package in the top rack on the side where one usually finds cupsShe then turned the washer onto a full, light load cycle and let'er ripHere the recipe: 3/4 pounds of Sole or 'Flounder' filets per person to be servedSprinkle sole with fresh dill leaves or dried salt and pepper to taste baste filets generously with butter steam in dishwasher Serve with snowflake potatoes - boiled and sprinkled with fresh parsley a green veg like broccoli Enjoy.
I got the bike and the fork on it is bent back and I don't know why it wont come off no madder how hard I try.
If this is a threaded headset then you must loosen the centre bolt of the handle bar stem,be it allen[hex]key or a socket.after this is loosened then you should lightly tap it with a piece of wood or whack it with a rubber mallet. Then twist the stem maybe even lube it if needed [with a thin lubricant that will flow down]but only if neededIf this doesn't work your stem/fork might be an intigrated system that may need some tapping of the head[steer] tube of the frame or try pouring pure vinegar into the top of the stem or fork hole from underneath. After the stem is now removed then you must unscrew the threaded headsets top cover and bearing race, sometimes this is one in the same. After you see bearings then the fork should come outIn rare cases torching is needed If you have a threadless head set then you must remove the stem then remove the top of the head set by tapping lightly the fork steer tube with a peice of wood or whack it with a rubber mallet.Usually a plastic or aluminum round wedge is the locking mechanism.Do not try to pry it with anything sharp or a true tight headset might be not in your futureThis is all I can offer without more infoI sure hope it can help,if not please add more to your post so help can be more easilly provided
Aluminum foil is often used in high voltage test. What is the main function?
He is generally used for shielding because there are a lot of bare, bare burrs or protrusions formed under high voltage discharge, arcing, danger.
will x-rays pass through a sheet of kitchen foil?
It definitely wouldBut because its a metal, there would be some densitiesAluminum is used in Radiology to help calibrate a machineThe use somthing called a step wedge where each step uses a different densityI hope this helps.

My friend is a complete idiot and smokes weed through a 'pipe' he made from aluminum foil. I heard that if you smoke things through aluminum foil that particles can mess with your lungs and brain. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true.(i am not condoning smoking weed because I think it's retarded anyways, I am just looking out for my friend)
Probably not. Aluminum doesn't burn at the temperature an average cigarette lighter puts out. Also, the pipe will become coated with resin, and this poses a much more immediate health risk to your lungs. I used to smoke out of those kind of pipes when I was a kid, and I'm fine now! Aluminum is toxic if ingested in the form of microscopic particles, and has been linked with early onset Parkinson's and Alzheimers disease. Think of it this way have you ever eaten anything off of a grill that was wrapped in aluminum foil? Do you drink sodas out of aluminum cans? Have you noticed any problems? Highly unlikely. Tell your friend to get some rolling papers or a glass pipe. Papers are around $2 and glass pipes are between $5-100. Good luck!
i want to get hold of some aluminium for metal casting the problem is i don't know where to get it from.I have tried the local dump that have a metal recycling center and they refused and the local scrap yard which seems to be quite large,(the guy at the counter said all the Al goes into the Al waste and he wont put any aside however he did try to sell me a wheel.).there is nothing lying around my area and if there was metal collectors would come and take it (which there seems to be a lot of in my area). i have rang a metal fabricator and they offered ?3 per kg (which doesn't seem to be to bad but still 3x the price of scrap) does anyone know where i can get hold of some aluminium in harrow. or any metal recycling center which is willing to sell small quantity's of scrap Al to the public for cheap.
Beer cans and the likes. Enjoy
