FAQ

Potting Soil, Vermiculite, Peat Moss, Coconut husk, etc what should the depth be?
What are you a DEMOCRAT!!!! Look you lazy son of B. you cant get nothing for free unless its welfare. You well have to work work hard growing anything takes a lot of care dillagance. To start with you must first make a starile inviroment. Then you well need agar spores to grow any how the quick answer is a lazy f__k like you well never dedicate aproxamately 3 months to harvest good shrooms so buck up get some counselling P.S. just because you find shrooms growing out of cow **** does not make them majick if you eat them with out knowing what the are you could die or lose your kidneys takes about 30 days You would do best to buy them of the street for about 10 bucks a gram THEY ARE ILLEGALWild Bills
What was the mixture of stuff with topsoil? Vermiculite or sand or how did you mix your dirt? How did you fertilize? What did you plant? How did it do?(We are looking at Earth boxes for planting our small garden - because the deer, rabbits, etc eat our stuff and we can keep it out of reach by planting the tender stuff up on the deck.)
I have 18 raised beds. The soil is composed of 80% commercial potting mix purchased from a local nursery and 20% mineral sand. The commercial mix is 80% composted pine bark, 15% spaghnum moss and 5% sterile sand. The beds are amended with greensand, rock phosphate ,bone meal, blood meal, milorganite and composted chicken manure. I live in Florida and mainly grow heirloom vegetables of all types. Heirloom variety vegetables seem to do better in rich organic soils than they do with chem fert. Judge your soil by your earth worm count. The higher the count ,the richer the soil.s
my gecko laid 2 eggsthey were prefect.white , no dents, firmso i put them in my incubator and have them on 82degree heat. they are in vermiculite medium in a container with no holes.but after a day they are starting to dent a bit. what is causing this to happen? can i fix it so i dont kill the eggs?.is it too much humidity or not enough? or is my heat temp wrongg
maybe they weren't fertilizeds
i search some pictures for potting soil, why are some have pebbles?
If the pebbles are white then it is actually vermiculite and perlite. They help water and air to get to the roots of the plants.s
I‘m thinking about getting a pet Tarantula, and I want to know everything about them, please. Like how much do I feed them? Do they need light? Is there any way to prevent them from biting you when holding them? I‘m thinking about holding him on a towel on my knees and stuff. What kind of container do they need? What type should I get, this is my first one? I‘d like to know everything you know, please. :D Thank you so much! Best gets 10 points!
i small container, 10g or so, you can even go with a plastic cage instead of a glass terrarium to save on expensis. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation in the cage, like make sure the top has wire or mesh with a lot of air flow. Use tree bark for the ground, never sand, sand will irritate your tarantula a lot. Put a small water bowl inside although some tarantulas never do drink from their water bowl and just get hydrated through their juicy krickets. yes next feed your tarantula around 5 crickets a week would be fine, some people feed pinky mice to their tarantulas but i think thats a little wierd, only do this if your tarantula is malnourished and you need a quick way to fatten them up :), then move to crickets. make sure and have a place for the tarantula to hide like a hallow rock or coconut shell. yes make sure your cage has a lid becaue the tarantula can crawl up glass fairly easily :). I would definaty purchase a rose-hair tarantula, they are awesome, also try to purchase one from a past owner, like off of craigslist, that way it will have aready been handled a lot and got used to humans, if you do purchase at a petstore make sure the tarantulas have been handled regularly so that you already buy a tame tarantula :). You shouldnt have any problems no getting bitten, the tarantula will usually give you a sign that it doesn't want to be handled before hand before it bites, these signs are lifting up its front legs high in the air in a scary defesive position and also flicking the hairs off of its back/butt withh its hind legs. After purchasing your tarantula give it at least a week to get used to its new surrounding and home before handling, then try to handle you tarantula daily but not for long periods of time so that it stays tame but doesnt get stressed. Hope you have fun with your new pet and good luck!s
Since fertilizer shouldn‘t be given early, I suppose Miracle Grow Potting Mix is out also, am I correct? I know there are seed starting mixes out there. I also have peatmoss, vermiculite and perlite here at home.
I don't think so, it's time realized, but look on the package. If it does not say not to you should be ok.s
Buying a house and we love it! One problem there is vermiculite in the attic used for insulation. It is now said that it has a 50% chance of having asbestos. How do i remove it safely?
Clay minerals have large surface areas with weak electrostatic charge, so tend to be able to absorb a lot of nutrients (and water, actually), and thus tend to be good as part of a potting soil mixture. The vermiculite will not decay into something else, releasing its structurally-bond components, but like all clays, it is a good source for storage and capture of nutrients that can be later taken by plants. Acts like a kitchen cupboard in a sense. You have to replenish the cupboard once in a while or it will get empty, is all. If you add liquid fertilizer to a soil containing vermiculite, some of it will absorb onto the surfaces and be available for later uptake, once the concentration of free nutrient constituents starts to fall.s
working on incubating 11 red eared slider eggs - 3rd year in a row, but the temp. these days is colder outside. They are inside in vermiculite and peet moss and they have another 20 days to hatch, they are forming, but the temp is dropping from 86 degrees to 79 degrees. Any suggestions?
I can't say that i know anything about incubating eggsbut your best honest bet is to ask a pet shop because a lot of them do their own breeding or are used to answering questions about that.sorry i could give you any straight answerss
