- Q: i want to build some raised beds. i have room for 12 6x3 beds. but, i do not have a lot of money to spend on this and i will need to buy dirt. i dont need to build them all this year but would like to do as many as possible. i looked up pressure treated wood and dont feel comfortable using it. how about pine? will that last at least like 5 years? any other ideas? also how about grass between the beds it is in my yard. thanks
- build the beds either 4x4 or 4x8. you will save on lumber costs. 5 years will be about tops for pine. try to find some free horse manure. remember, free is good. make sure a water source is nearby. i have had raised bed for over 20 years. i had grass between my beds also. i laid down weed blocking fabric before i built anything., then the raised beds, then mulch. never had a grass problem.

- Don't worry! He's likely only tearing it up to make it more fluffy and comfy then carrying it to his bed/hole. Mine does this with everything, even sawdust! The only way you'll know if he's actually eating it is that it'll all be slowly vanishing until it's gone completely. However, i don't think this is the case; if it is though, all bedding is completely safe if made specifically for small animals. As such it won't be the best for him but it shouldn't do him any harm either :)

- I know there are a bunch of people out there that think co-sleeping is the best. I am n ot one of them. I think everyone gets better sleep when they are in their own space. We had my son in his pack-n-play right next to our bed for the first 6-8 weeks (until he started going for a longer stretch without nursing), then we gradually transitioned him to his own crib for naps and night. If you co-sleep, you may end up with a 3 year old who will not go ot bed unless you lay down next to them. I think it just leads to one more thing you have to wean them from. Also, cosleeping doesn't teach the child how to fall asleep on their own, and since the baby is right there, the parents may be to quick to assume they are waking up due to hunger when really they are just shifting sleep phases and would have fallen back asleep in a minute or two on their own. I say, keep him in your room at first (in a bassinet) for piece of mind and convenience but move him into his own crib as soon as you feel conmpfortable.

- I have had those pests in my house. They leave black marks on the edges of the mattresses. If you see a bug on your bed, squeeze it and if blood comes out it's a bed bug. Those black things you see are probably their feces. Bed bugs don't live only in your bed. They can be on clothes, their eggs, you name it. I suggest you wash all your clothes (Heat kills them). By a bed bug spray, spray it on your bed, and cover your bed up with a mattress cover.

- Everyone has different ideas on comfort. That's why someone invented the sleep-number bed. Consider how your couch feels when you lie on it. Is it soft, or firm? How does your bed feel in comparison? If your couch is soft you might benfit from buying a memory foam mattress pad. Some of these are quite expensive ($200+), but I lucked out and found one for $50. It should be about 1 1/2 inches thick; some are woefully thin. Don't be fooled by regular foam pads. The packaging needs to say memory foam. The pad truly made a difference in my bed's comfort. As to future problems, they are more likely to be caused by the position in which you sleep. When sleeping on your back you don't need much of a pillow, but if you sleep on your side a very full and firm pillow will give better neck support. Below is a link to a Consumer Reports article on MATTRESSES. But, even they could not give ratings or recommendations, because comfort is a very personal thing. Be sure to read the 2nd page where more info on how firmness affects comfort.

- That's not at all true believe me. They might still leave you or cheat on you and just use you for a booty call. Don't rely on sex to keep a guy cause it won't happen. All I can say about being good in bed is that all you need to worry about is having fun yourself and relaxing that's the biggest thing. Everything else is mostly how well you click with your partner and making sure you are both happy.
