Q: we have numerous recessed light fixtures in our ceiling. Is fiberglass insulation flammable?
This Site Might Help You. RE: we have numerous recessed light fixtures in our ceiling. Is fiberglass insulation flammable?
Q: has any one used corrugated metal (used comonly on barn roofs and in resturant decor). for a ceiling in a basement. ( will be in bar-living-game open area) want to have access and hate drop ceilings. planning on just screwing to joist. would like to know if you are happy with and if you have any pictures.
My best friends have a rustic country style decor and they've used corrugated metal ceilings in one bathroom and one bedroom--and they look fantastic! Both are painted, which I don't think you can do with that fiberglass stuff. Go for it. Theirs are also screwed to the joists.
Q: Drawing a candy shop, what should i put on the ceiling apart from lights??
Maybe some balloons. Candy shops usually sell balloons too.
Q: We just had our first child, and his room is right above the garage. It is noticebly colder in his room, especially the floor. I used the plastic window kits and that helped, however, the floor is still extremely cold and I would like to at least check the insulation in the garage ceiling. Right now there is drywall on the ceiling, but I have no qualms about ripping it down, not real worried what it looks like. What should I look for...I believe there is very old (50 years) fiberglass insulation but i'm not 100% sure. If there is the old insulation there...should I look to replace it? If so, with what R value...Is this a project that someone without specific experience in the field could complete? I'm pretty handy but certainly not a pro. I'm not worried at all how it looks in the garage.
thats a good question i would definetly insulate the garage but see if theres a special garage insulation maybe something that has a vapor barrier against car fumes or sometime of extra fire resistant stuff i know they have a noise reducing insulation
Q: I'm looking to move into a new apartment by the end of the month. It's in a good location, however the only down side is that the neighbors upstairs have kids and they run a day care during the day. Luckily I work and won't be home until 5:30 or so, but just by visiting the place today I could hear them walking upstairs and I'm sure that it's going to annoy me.I would like to know if anybody has any ideas on how to noise proof my ceiling for a reasonable price. Is there some kind of paint that effectively noise proofs walls and such, or would I have to wreck the ceiling and place fiberglass or something of the sort in order to ensure that I don't hear them walking or they don't hear me playing loud music and such.Any help is appreciated, thanks!
If you are certain that you are going to be annoyed by the neighbors and will have to invest a lot of time and money in the apartment just to get it to an acceptable state, WHY MOVE IN THERE?

Q: Hi,The felt (or whatever it is made of) ceiling in my car is falling down. I have scraped most of the residual glue off the ceiling made out of fiberglass and what I can off of the carpet/felt part. I've tried a couple of different types of two sided tape and can't get it to stick. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance...
There is a headliner repair spray available at auto parts store. You spray it on the ceiling and the material your are trying to reattach, let it tack up, and then press into place. Works ok unless there is too much residual insulation on the ceiling.
