Q: What are the common uses of plastic sheets?
Plastic sheets are commonly used for various purposes such as packaging materials, construction and building applications, signage, protective coverings, and even in the manufacturing of household items like shower curtains and storage containers.
Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to scratching from pets or sharp objects?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to scratching from pets or sharp objects due to their durable and tough nature.
Q: Is there a glue that can seal/bond 2 thin (about 30 microns or less) sheets of plastic together, the same EXACT way that they would seal/bond if the same 2 sheets were heat sealed? (kinda like those food vacuum sealers)
I have the same problem. I have tried melting some of the plastic and pressing it between the sheets. This only seemed to melts the sheets also. I have used Gorrilla Glue, Silicone, Super Glue and Epoxy and have had no luck. Double sided tap sorta worked but it takes a ton of it. So far the best thing I have found is just using Duct tape. It's ugly and falls off in the heat of the summer but does work temporarily. I will definitely buy an iron and try that. That seems like the best idea yet. I did visit an adhessive manufacturers website and they say there is nothing invented yet that bonds sheeting together permanently. I find this hard to believe. I have used a vacumme sealer for freezer bags and it works wonderfully on really thin plastic but the thicker sheeting I need and it has no affect on that.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for medical device enclosures?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for medical device enclosures. Plastic materials such as polycarbonate or ABS are commonly used for their durability, flexibility, and ability to withstand sterilization processes. These sheets can be easily molded, shaped, and customized to fit specific medical device enclosure requirements. Additionally, plastic sheets can offer sufficient protection against moisture, chemicals, and impact, making them suitable for medical device enclosures.
Q: I like to play games now and then but my hands get sweaty when i play any game what makes at annoying to press buttons. (These have glossy finish which is basically gagging to be nice and slippery )is there an invisible stip of sticky plastic or something to put over the keys? any suggestion appreciated (:
try an invisible keyboard skin protector or get a spare keyboard for gaming they are usually built to last
Q: What do you put underneath sand so that it doesnt touch the ground. It is like a sheet.?
Best advice is to use clear plastic poly sheeting. This is widely available in all kinds of sizes and thicknesses. I would recommend at least a 6 mil thickness. This sheeting is cheap and is available at Lowe's and Home Depot. They will have it available in clear and black in a number of sizes and thicknesses. One thing to keep in mind is that water will not drain through the plastic. For example, if you are lining a children's play sandbox with plastic sheeting, it will hold water and take forever to dry out. Good luck with your project.
Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to termites?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to termites as they are made of synthetic materials that termites are unable to digest or destroy.
Q: I am making a craft project. I went to a craft store and purchased a yard of plastic in the fabric dept. I cut two 6X6 pieces and glued them with a water resistant glue. I allowed 24hrs. I then put water inside and a few hrs later noticed it was soaking through the plastic and leaking. I need a glue that will hold water inside. I hope this clarifies my question.

Q: water has an angle of incidence of 35.0 degrees. At what angle does the light enter the air?
Actually the plastic sheet does not enter into the problem.. Let n_w = n water = 1.33; n_p = n plastic = 1.500; n_a = n air = 1.00 Now using Snell's Law we have n_w*sin(thetaw) = n_p*sin(thetap) = n_a*sin(thetaa) See how the middle part of the eqn is not needed... So n_w*sin(thetaw) = n_a*sin(thetaa) Therefore thetaa = arcsin(n_w/n_a*sin(thetaw)) arcsin(1.33/1.0*sin(35)) = 49.7o
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for packaging materials?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for packaging materials. They are commonly used for packaging various products due to their durability, flexibility, and ability to protect items from moisture, dirt, and damage. Plastic sheets can be molded, thermoformed, or simply cut and folded to create packaging solutions suitable for different products and industries.
