1,Cast Iron Manhole Cover Description :

manhole cover is a removable plate forming the lid over the opening of a manhole, to prevent anyone or anything from falling in, and to keep out unauthorized persons and material.

Manhole covers are often made out of cast iron, concrete or a combination of the two. This makes them inexpensive, strong, and heavy, usually weighing more than 50 kilograms (110 lb). The weight helps to keep them in place when traffic passes over them, and makes it difficult for unauthorised people not having suitable tools to remove them.

A manhole cover sits on metal base, with a smaller inset rim which fits the cover. The base and cover are sometimes called "castings", because they are usually made by a casting process, typically sand-casting techniques.

5FAQ:

We have organized several common questions for our clientsmay help you sincerely

Q. Can I fit a square manhole cover into a round chamber?

A. Yes, there are a select few manhole covers which are square-to-round, meaning they will fit square or round chambers.

Q. I have a heavy traffic manhole cover but it has been broken by a forklift, why?

A. Forklifts have solid wheels which apply pressure differently to standard pneumatics and therefore covers must be specially adapted to suit this.

Q. I’ve measured my clear opening size but none of your covers match it, can you offer anything?

A. It’s likely that your cover is quite old and in imperial measurements which are no longer manufactured. However, we can offer bespoke solutions with manhole covers made to the specification you require.

Q. The project I’m working on requires a manhole cover with a quality finish, what’s available?

A. Naturally, galvanised steel of black polypropylene aren’t always ideal, and so we offer brass or stainless steel edging, as well as complete stainless steel covers.

Q. Odours are coming through where I have installed my manhole cover, why?

A. Your cover must be sealed and locked, or neoprene sealed, so you would require a T-Range Cover, or if you require a solid top, a selection of the PC range (e.g. PC2BG3, PC6CG3, not PC2BG) are suitable.

Q. I need access through my manhole cover on a regular basis, is this possible?

A. Yes, the majority of covers have built-in lifting keys, and for those that don’t we also supply lifting keys. However, the best way to obtain easy access is to have a bespoke, hinged manhole cover.

Q:I personally love Power Metal. sure, its not br00tal, and has the higher pitched singers and have some cheesy lyrics...but in general, you have talented musicians and singers making fun music.
Rising,it's very fun,with great soundtracks
Q:Science Class assignment due tomorrow...11/20/06
It's just a label the record execs stuck on bands that played rock with turn tables, it's got nothing to do with metal at all, I still think Slipknot is metal though, having a turn table doesn't necessary make you a nu metal band, I don't believe Slipknot is nu metal.
Q:4 ferruos metals?8 non-ferruos metals?thanks! :)
Everything is fine Katz but you definition of what you called Gore Metal is wrong darls quote Having it’s routes in Goregrind, Gore Metal crosses it with Melo Death Metal and produces what is just a straight up breed of the two sounds. The vocals are clearer and less distorted, but still growled. There is less distortion and more melody to the guitaring and more rhythm to the drumming. Examples– Carcass, Impaled, Carrion. First of all its called GRINDCORE the reason being that its a cross between Hardcore, a bit of Death Metal and some Thrash Metal ..the vocals are clearer? have you heard Napalm Death or Carcass ever? less distortion and more melody to the guitaring? I don't think Carcass is a good example of what you're trying to expose here, Carcass's Symphony of Sickness less distortion more melody ? kidding right? more rhythm at 200 mph to the drumming ok in bands like Napalm Death and Terrorizer Not trying to outshine your knowledge at all I think your answer is great, but Carcass was a band that evolved from Grindcore (they became famous for their unique style) to a more melodic stuff that could not be categorized, perhaps you are basing your answer on Heartwork or Swansong albums, .so I honestly believe Carcass should not be under that category Under Industrial Metal you forgot to mention some of the most important exponents of this genre Laibach Godflesh Just trying to help Katz, please dont take it personal.. : ) Cheers
Q:Apart from the facts that metals always loose electrons and are good electric conductors and that non-metals always gain electrons and are bad conductors, what is the difference between the two?
Metal is the same temperature as the rest of the room. It just feels cold because it conducts heat so well. When you touch something non-metallic, the surface instantly heats to the temperature of your finger and does not feel cold.
Q:i don't see how disturbed is nu-metal...like linkin park, korn, system of a down are nu metal but comparing them to disturbed....they are so different.
Metals do not tend to lose electrons in reactions, metals tend to share electrons but it depends on what you define as reactions. Many metals have very limited ductility and very limited malleability but, again, it depends on exactly how you define these terms.
Q:Or progressive death metal and technical death metal
As free atoms, metals have exactly the same number of electrons as protons. In compounds, they lose electrons and become positive ions. As metals, the outer ring electrons can roam around throughout the metal and that is why they conduct electricity.
Q:It says in my chemistry book that metals are positively charged elements. Well i want to know why that is? or if thats true?
No, the metal in the braces is not dangerous. If it was dangerous then a lot of Orthodontists and manufacturers of braces brackets and wires will be in trouble. The only danger I can think of is the metal brackets and wires can hurt your oral tissues. These metal braces and its components can be sharp, so imagine you getting hit in the mouth. Your lips could get badly injured from the brackets. The difference between the ceramic and the metal braces is the esthetics. Ceramic braces aren't too obvious when worn as compared to the metal braces.
Q:Who killed the metal?
Metal Gear Solid HD will keep you entertained for months, being that each game is pretty long. However, if you're an online player, go for Twisted Metal, as the online on it is pretty fun (or so I heard).
Q:hi . element X melts at a temperature lower than that of boiling water. it fails to react with hydrochloric acid and 1centimeter cube (1 cm^3) of the element has a mass of 1.8g. identify element X as a metal or a non metal. Give reasons to justify your answer. thank you
ALKALI metals: - 1 valence electron, so highly reactive - soft metals - silvery in color - low boiling and melting points - large atomic radi ALKALINE metals: - have 2 valence electrons, still very reactive - shiny, silvery-white colour - when heated in flame, Mg gives a brilliant white flame, Ca a brick-red, Sr a crimson, and Ba an apple green - harder and denser than sodium and potassium, and have higher melting points - found combined with oxygen and other non metals in earth's crust TRANSITION metals: - are electric conductors - have luster - malleable - most are hard solids with relatively high melting and boiling points - because of unpaired d electrons, they can have oxidation numbers of +4, +5, etc.
Q:10 pts. for the most knowledgable metal head on here.
False metal is basically the musicians who try to make heavy music using the most basic, formulaic templates. The only reason many of these artist joined the genre is to treat it as a business and make some financial gain. Even if a band is technically metal, they can still do a disservice to the genre by watering it down, oversimplifying it, or making it a commodity. Glam metal, nu-metal, deathcore, and some metalcore bands have done exactly that. However, I feel it's worth mentioning that some metalcore bands are perfectly acceptable, such as Botch, Converge or Zao. However, all of those groups lean more towards the hardcore side, and their goal isn't really to wade heavily into the metal genre. They're composing very respectable music, but it's so focused in the hardcore genre that it doesn't really matter. However, when it comes to bands like Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium, I know exactly where you're coming from. Those sorts of bands have provided metal with a terrible facade in the mainstream eye, and it's very unfortunate. False metal can also describe some modern bands who do nothing but worship the old styles. They're incapable of coming up with anything original or fresh, so they resort to repeating the past in a very stale, boring manner. Take, for example, bands like Warbringer and Municipal Waste; both of these bands were formed after 2000, but they're trying to sound as if they're from the 80's. I love 80's thrash metal as much as the next metalhead, but we need fresh material, not the regurgitation of other artists' past glories. You should read the articles from the metal journalist website, Lamentations of the Flame Princess. They have a lot of very interesting (although incredibly long) articles about false metal and other similar subjects. They're all a great read, and go incredibly in-depth.
