Description
Metal Silicon is a kind of ferroalloy which is composed of metal and silicon.Ferro silicon is one of metal products. Ferro Silicon uses coke, quartz
(or silica) as raw materials and is made by electric furnace. Because silicon and oxygen are easily compound
into SiO2, the ferrosilicon is often used as deoxidizer in steelmaking. It is playing more and more important role in the industry.
Features
1. Ferrosilicon also can be used as alloy elements join agent, which is widely used in low alloy steel, non-ferrous metal, bearing steel, heat-resistant steels and electrician silicon-steel.
2. Ferro silicon can be used as a reductant in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.
3. In iron industry it can be used as inoculant and nodulizer.

- Q: I need to smelt lots of steel.
- well i would tell you but i dont want you to mess it up, look in the manual
- Q: When can I buy them, are they expensive, can I find them myself?
- iron ore pellets is iron ore that was processed into semi-finished materials (already cleared of minerals and other impurities), such as the manufacture of iron bars, steel-making, etc. Can be ordered from the iron ore processing plant
- Q: Iron is mined from the earth as iron ore. Common ores include Fe2O3 (hematite), Fe3O4 (magnetite), and FeCo (siderite).I need help calculating the mass percent for each one of these please!
- hi i don't know your car but nearly all vehicles have a thing called tandem break systems where the pipes are split diagonal front wheel to opposite back wheel or just front to back.So if you are going to drive you will have only half the breaking performance and fluid loss .All in all is it worth the risk i would say not
- Q: Okay, so, I have a skiller in Runescape and want 99 Mining really badly! How long will it take if I mine Iron ores in Yanille/Port Khazard Area? How many ores will that be? And lastly, how much money will I make? Thanks! Sorry for asking soo much :D lulz I hate bots and will not use them for getting 99 Mining btw!
- according to runescape it will take you at least 1,000 hours to get lvl 99 on ANY skill. iron ores usually respawn pretty fast so u'll be constantly minning, however, emptying your inventory sometimes takes time. from lvl 1-99 u have to mine 372,413 iron ores. right now, one ore sells for 225 so if u sell 372,413 of em, ul get 83,792,925 gp, but if u store ur ores into the bank once u get full inventory IT WILL TAKE A REALLY LONG TIME! if u need any more info go to www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?pagemining_guide.htm they tell u everything about minning and they even have calculators that will tell u exactly how many ores u need to mine to get to which ever lvl u want. hope it helps
- Q: Why does increasing the current, increase the magnetic field of a coil wrapped around an iron ore?
- Effect of iron core When the coil is wrapped around an iron core, the strength of the electromagnetic field is much greater than the same coil without the iron core. This is because the atoms in the iron line up to amplify the magnetic effect. The orientation of the atoms in the iron is called its domain. Current When you increase the current, the magnetic strength increases, but it is not exactly linear as it is with the coil by itself. The characteristics of the core cause the curve of magnetic strength versus current to be an s-shaped hysteresis curve. The shape of this curve depends on how well the material in the core becomes magnetized and how long it remains magnetized. Soft iron loses its magnetism readily, while hard steel tends to retain its magnetism.
- Q: Thanks!
- The more advanced way to smelt iron is in a blast furnace. A blast furnace is charged with iron ore, charcoal or coke (coke is charcoal made from coal) and limestone (CaCO3?). Huge quantities of air blast in at the bottom of the furnace, and the calcium in the limestone combines with the silicates to form slag. Liquid iron collects at the bottom of the blast furnace, underneath a layer of slag. The blacksmith periodically lets the liquid iron flow out and cool. At this point, the liquid iron typically flows through a channel and into a bed of sand. Once it cools, this metal is known as pig iron. To create a ton of pig iron, you start with 2 tons (1.8 metric tons) of ore, 1 ton of coke (0.9 metric tons) and a half ton (0.45 metric tons) of limestone. The fire consumes 5 tons (4.5 metric tons) of air. The temperature at the core of the blast furnace reaches nearly 3,000 degrees F (about 1,600 degrees C). ?Pig iron contains 4 to 5 percent carbon and is so hard and brittle that it's almost useless. If you want to do anything with it, you have three options. First, you can melt it, mix it with slag and hammer it out to eliminate most of the carbon (down to 0.3 percent) and create strong, malleable wrought iron. The second option is to melt the pig iron and combine it with scrap iron, smelt out impurities and add alloys to form cast iron. This metal contains 2 to 4 percent carbon, along with quantities of silicon, manganese and trace impurities. Cast iron, as the name implies, is typically cast into molds to form a wide variety of parts and products.
- Q: This is made possible through its reaction with ferrous ion. What is the reaction involved? What is the role of hydrogen peroxide in this reaction?
- Iron forms two common oxidation states: ferrous (+2) and ferric (+3). Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizing agent, so it will oxidize ferrous iron to ferric iron. In acidic solution, the reaction is: 2Fe2+ + H2O2 + 2H+ ----- 2Fe3+ + 2H2O I am actually a bit surprised by this use, as most iron ore contains ferric iron (as hematite), so the iron would need to be reduced during the analysis prior to this reaction.
- Q: what‘s the difference between iron ore, iron and pig iron?anyone knoww!!?? help mee!!. i‘m stuckwith my HW.
- Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted. Pig iron is the intermediate product of smelting iron ore with coke, usually with limestone as a flux.
