- Q: I would like some recipes to use as a pesticide in my vegetable garden that can be made from household ingredients. I used to have some but I lost them. Please help if you can I would appreciate any suggestions :)
- mix powder tide with water 50/50 and use as a spray. no problem, though it HAS to be the powder, not the liquid.

The cookbook was the better homes and gardens quot;birthdays and family celebration.quot; My mom really loves these cookies so i thought it would be nice to bake them for her and surprise her.

- Q: I have a mostly brick house, more red, fenced in back yard and am wanting to do a border of Perennial plants around my home. Wondering if this is a good idea, I don't know much about planting, gardening or anything of that sort. We have brick steps centered in the front and I want to go at an angle and leave gaps on either side of the steps to be able to plant some flowers or something. I would love some thoughts and opinions on all of this, seeing as I have no clue. I want to make sure all plants I use are safe for children and animals, I have 4 children, 3 of which are under the age of 5. Thank you for your time and help!Oh, any websites that you use personally or know would be helpful to me feel free to supply them =) I have had the hardest time finding anything helpful. Thanks!

- Q: can we use the water taken from the well to water the home garden..
- It is better than city water, Providing there is no salt or arsenic. I would take a sample and have it analyzed to be safe. You have another alternative is to collect rain water, Just put a barrel under the down spout or eve trove and you cant get any better.
- Q: They have large rose hips and are very fragrant. Usually a deep pink but I've seen other shades as well. Also, why do I not see them away from the ocean? I'd love to add one our two to my rose garden if possible.
- I believe these are wild roses and tolerate the winds, saltwater and hot sun. You would probably have to dig one up or get it's seed. I don't think this is something you can get at a nursery.
- Q: Is there anyone in Chicago who loves to work in the garden?
- Does your garden need tending? Hum(-;
- Q: I have a garden that is 15' by 30' and I would like to but some sort of mini irrigation system in it. It doesn't have to be automatic I just want it to be more efficient that using a hose. Do you know of any specific brand or kit that I should use? Links to what you are taking about would be great. Thanks!
- A watering can, ha ha. But really, if you want to control the flow of water to each specific plant or area without waste, doing it by hand is the most precise way.
- Q: Appears to be being eaten by something. saw green caterpillar like insect on leaves of brussel sprout young plant. Other plants doing fairly well.See holes in a few other leaves,but somethings descimating my Brussell Sprout plants. Please help.
- Sounds like an infestation of cabbage loopers. If you are not squeamish you can pick them off daily. Bt (dipel) applied daily will also keep them in check. This pesticide will kill only the caterpillers and nothing else. I was told years ago by an organic inspector, inspecting my farm, that rye flour sprinkled on the leaves while still wet with dew (so the flour sticks) will kill the caterpillers. They eat the flour and explode. I have tried this and it does indeed work. Row covers on hoops put up as soon as the seed/seedlings go in the ground are also very effective. This has been my main strategy for keeping these pests of my brassicas for over a decade.
- Q: Long story short, I had a sharper image home theater 2.1 speaker system
- accessories4less(dot)com There's super cheap receivers there. All you need is a basic 2.1 stereo receiver. You can get a Onkyo TX-8255 for $119 which will work fine, for those types of speakers you wont need alot of power at all, trust me. If you wanna go super dirt cheap look for a sony stereo receiver but they suck and arent reliable. Be sure that sub connects through an RCA and is a powered sub, if its a passive sub that connects through speaker wire then you wont be able to buy a receiver that will connect right.
