- Actually most pastas are made with at least one egg!! If she is that allergic, I wouldn't suggest risking it. While I have a kitchen full of appliances I seldom if ever use, the one that I've gotten the most out of, and enjoy the most, is my Pasta Machine. While it wasn't that cheap then ($99 on sale), I've saved a fortune using it. Plus the pasta tastes a MILLION times better when fresh. You can whip up a batch in no time, and all the dirty parts easily come apart and pop in the dish washer. Now that said, I've since seen other brands MUCH cheaper on sale (do you have a Homegoods or similar store near you?! I know they've had great ones in their clearance aisle). Plus many sell on Craig's List or yard sales. And you could wash well. So my suggestion is to get a pasta machine and make your own. It literally makes it in minutes, and then you know what exactly is in it. Plus I've made some amazingly yummy specialty flavored pasta, like lemon and dill or lemon and sage for serving with fish and so on. Plus you can make extra while you are doing it and freeze some. So then your fresh pasta will always be on hand (and fresh cooks up in just a few minutes...usually 3-4! BTW I find if you freeze it, you'll get the best results by thawing then cooking, and that doesn't take long either! Just let it sit out for about 15 minutes. Something for you to consider!
- Q: It seems additive layer manufacturing comes in laser to metal format,if so, acquring just one of these machines (although I realize at a ridiculously high price) covers all the functionalities of many variations of CNC machines. (like mills, lathes, routers etc, of which I assume there are limitations on angular production)Will this not cut the learning curve and rapid prototyping time significantly?Or is there limitations in these type of rapid prototyping machines as well do you think?I just think, learning and using many different machines these days on manufacturing is quickly becoming obsolete. What do you think? Is CNC still a must?

- I would take it to mean that a individual wants to enter into a career in the future working with some kind of machinery. The absolute vagueness of the statement leaves much to be desired. It does not make a lot of sense but you can derive a small amount of what the person is trying to say.

- Yep, it looks like a winch to me too. I see a second drum, so perhaps it was a winch that could pull a cable in two directions, with the cable looped around a pulley at some distant point and being wound onto one of the drums as it is unwound from the other. (hard to see the gearing, etc., from that image). As for age, that electric motor looks like it's about 100 years old! (just a wild guess, of course)

- That's an interesting, and disturbing thought. I wonder if they should be allowed to smoke cigarettes, as a dropped cigarette can cause a serious fire. Pumping fuel, too, in fact any activity involving potentially dangerous substances, the operation of machinery, and even holding small children should become proscribed acts, immediately. This is a serious safety issue!

- The piece of machinery that you are talking about Sounds like a rail head grinder. Its used to smooth out the rails so when a train passes your hous it will seem quieter, and for the passengers the ride witll be smoother. The machine can also be used to cut out damanged pieces of track and fix a new piece in all at the same time hence the grinder to smooth out the welding. I hope that my answer helps. Joolz
