Our food grade CMC has good thickening property, water retention, dispersion stability, filming and chemical stability. I had a '65 Rambler American ( Remember those ? ) over the summer, bought it just for somthing to drive unmolested, unrestored but decent enough to drive and didn't need much work to go on the road. ended up with a valve that got burnt, but it still ran smooth if I kept the addatives in it. marvle mystery oil and Seafoam it would start to hesitate and stall due to low vac ( burnt valve ) clean it out with seafoam and then dump marvle mystery oil down the carb till it poured white smoke out the tailpipe let the smoke clear and it was all good and ran like a clock again 2 pumps on the gas pedal to set the choke and give it a little gas, and hit the key and it would fire off got rid of it due to a worn out suspension and winter was coming.
