- Most metals do not exist in metal form in nature. They form oxides or sulfides. What is dug from mines is roughly a rock containing some percent of the metal in oxide form or others. Iron can be usually found as magnetite (Fe3O4) and hematite (Fe2O3); Titanium as TiO2 etc. But noble metal which are less reactive or not reactive at all such as gold, platinium, silver can be found as metals. So you can find a piece of gold in the nature but not titanium. (iron can only be found in some meteorites). So gold was one of the first metals to be discovered. Then as the metal becomes more reactive it is harder to extract it from the oxide or other compound, and it necesitates a more advanced understanding of chemistry. So as chemistry advanced, more reactive metals were discovered.

Rap metal has lost alot of respect with douches like Linkin Park and such. Metal in general is good. - They're actually one in the same. Progressive death metal is just an alternate term for technical death metal (just another name to try and make it sound better, as far as I'm concerned). But the original term for the subgenre was actually technical death metal. The technical used to describe the progressive influence (particularly, the emphasis on complex riffs and song structures) used by some death metal bands who pioneered the style; namely Death, Atheist, Cynic, Nile, Nocturnus, and Pestilence while many future acts like Opeth, Obscura, and Decapitated would carry on the style. I've actually never heard of progressive metal referred to as technical metal. I personally think technical is a more accurate term for the prog-influenced death metal style since it helps distinguish those bands away from true prog metal bands, if you will, like Symphony X, Dream Theater, etc. Especially since they sound nothing like those bands.
