- There are some features similar but it is very much different.
- Q:I want to get a back up phone incase my current one gets damaged or something. I have an LG VU on ATT but i want to get a prepaid phone for my back up if possible. Will it work if i put my ATT SIM card in a virgin mobile phone (x-tc or LG Rumor2).
- Actually the answer is NO. The reason is that Network providers use a SIM locking capability to restrict the use of these phones to specific countries and/or other network providers. As an example, phones can be locked to accept only SIM cards from Network/ Service providers (e.g. ATT Mobility, T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc.).
- Q:I have a t-mobile cell phone and since I returned home from vacation Sunday, I have noticed that my phone now says ATT as its service, not 'T-mobile.' I haven't done anything to my phone, and have no idea why this is happening! A few of my friends who live next door also have T-mobile and have the same thing happening. What's even more odd is we have far better service now (even though ATT has horrible service in this area- New York's Hudson Valley).Any idea as to why this is may be occurring?
- It just means you're connecting to an ATT tower instead of to a T-Mobile one. Sometimes that happens because there's an issue with the T-Mobile tower and your phone can't connect to it. (Like if they're working on it right then or it's just busted, which seems to happen often.) If it's giving you better service, that's awesome, so don't bother to ask T-Mobile to put you back on their towers (tech support can do that I think). Roaming on other towers is included on T-Mobile so it's not going to affect your bill at all.

- Around a year back, i purchased a hp dv6 laptor for about half a lakh. As a complementary, the retailer offered me a motorokr mobile phone worth Rs.10000 for Rs.5500 extra. I bought the phone. Before opening the box, i looked for the reviews of the phone, which were mostly negative. So, I decided to sell it. I took it to THE MOBILE STORE who declined the offer. On asking, they told me that they themselves get the phone from motorola for 5500 and sell it to the customers for 10000. That means a profit for Rs.4500! I didn't sell it, and I use the phone and I hate it!

- You will have to pay a upgrade fee of $18.00. You should probably upgrade before att fully controls tmobile so you can get a cheeper plan.
