The design calls for thinner sheets of plastic. So my question is what type of plastic is strong, thinner, lightweight, and still on the cheap side, and where would I be able to buy this plastic?

- Any of the good epoxies will work. Just make sure the epoxy is rated for outdoor use and the part to be glued is dry and clean before applying. If you can, after gluing and to make sure the parts stay in contact, you might use some duct tape to hold things together. If the repair isn't visible , you can leave the tape on. If it will be visible, the tape can be removed after the epoxy has cured. (allow proper curing times with longer curing times possible with winter temperatures)

- Masonite is too thick to work with. If you're doing street art, you still kind of want to be able to draw like you can with an exacto. Plastic sheeting is good if you want to be able to reuse a stencil. It also rolls up. But cheap poster board works just as well, except that it can fold, which you don't want. You can always go back and cut the plastic stencil from the poster. If you're dead set on the plastic, but can only find 8.5x11, just use clear scotch tape to match the edges. Just make sure the cut outs don't sever the whole seam. Poster board will tear, so let paint dry before you lay them down, and lift them off the painting surface before they dry

- You could run it through printer or colour with pens, just remember the colour gets darker when it shrinks. this site has some coloured sheets.
