There is so many names and different subgenres. Thrash, groove, metalcore, deathcore, death metal, doom metal, black metal, gothic metal, speed metal, power metal. I mean, it kinda makes it seem like black sabbath and judas priest are the only heavy metal bands, ya know what i mean? So what is considered heavy metal?

It will set off the metal detector, but if you aren't able/it's too much hassle to take it off for long enough to get through the security checkpoint, you could always mention this to security and let them check you with a patdown/handheld scanner.

well you could do what my grandfather used to do to test his metal detector..... get someone to place a coin ring and teaspoon under a rug and than you try to find it with the metal detector... that will make you familiar with the signals.. but beware if you plan on going to the beach to look for coins take gloves and a hand shovel, as idiots drop needles on beaches and metal detectors will pick up the metal in needles, especialy if your metal detector is a good one Happy Hunting

They need to put in a metal section. I mean, they have Jazz, Rock, Rap, Country, ect. But no Metal. Metal might be a form of rock, but metal an rock are 2 different things. Who else agrees?

Metal is much better, because it doesn't break (as fast) when used, like plastic. Because plastic gears are made of plastic when they spin the friction causes them to heat up and as you know plasitc doesn't have a very high melting point, so the gears break. Get metal.
