How do metals exist? Pure metal or metal oxide? Is the process reversible(From metal to metal oxide or metal something and vise versa)? And the copper, iron, etc. that we use in daily life are metal oxide or pure metal?

Which type of metal do you like better? I don't know why, but I am more into European Metal bands more. I just think that European Metal is more passionate than American Metal. I even admit that and I live in the U.S.

Crossover combines the best of both worlds. I would suggest listening to bands like Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, DRI, or SOD.

Okay, I got into this discussion with my roommate debating which of these genres is better. He says he thinks bands like Slipknot and Korn are better because they have a more aggressive stage presence and deep meaningful lyrics. I'm not saying they suck, I'm just saying that I believe that old metal bands are far better than new metal.I will agree with him that there are some pretty good guitarists in those kinds of bands, but with lyrics like I will eat your heart then wear it as a hat I have a hard time comprehending with that. I told him that it was because of bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Aerosmith, and Van Halen that these new metal bands exist. Bands like Slipknot may be good in the musical talent sense, but they'll never be as big or as iconic as Led Zeppelin. Plus, I know for a fact that these guys wouldn't come as close as good as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, or Eddie Van Halen. So what do you guys think? Winner Gets 10 points!!!!!

Heavy Metal (20th Century) - Black Sabbath, Deep Purple Heavy Metal (All Time) - This one seems kind of weird, the only century that has had traditional Heavy Metal bands was the 20th century so it is just a repeat of the last one. Groove Metal - Pantera, Sepultura(Arise, and Chaos A.D. era classifies as groove metal I believe.) Thrash Metal - Slayer, Coroner Progressive Metal - Opeth, Dream Theater Speed Metal - Motorhead, Venom Gothic Metal - Tristania, Sirenia Symphonic Metal - Epica, Nightwish The other four genres I'm not going to answer because I don't like them much. I've replaced them with four other genres that SHOULD be on this list. Metals are metallically bonded. this means there is a lattice of metal cations surrounded by delocalized electrons. This means that no electron is bonded to any specific ion in the metal lattice. (these ions are nuclei and inner shell electrons). this means that electrons are less tightly bound to the structure of the metal. this is why the photoelectric effect can occur (where light frees electrons from a metal surface completely).

Group III to XI are all transition metal for me i would always look at the abbreviated electron configuration of the atom when you see D orbitals with electron then its a transition metal same goes for f orbitals the groups i mentioned are all transition metals hope this help
