Bagless Vacuum Cleaners introduction
Bagless vacuum cleaner feature a removable dust storage container, which can be emptied into your refuse bin when full. This is a simple method of maintaining your vacuum cleaner and making sure it doesn't lose suction. The advantage of this bagless system over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it is more environmentally friendly, and avoids the need to purchase dust bags, thus saving you money.
FAQ
Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?
The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.
Which attachments should I look out for?
Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.
I have a large house? What should I look out for?
Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.

- What about Kirby Vacuum Cleaners? I know they're are noisy, and grossly over priced. You can talk the salesman down to around $600.00. Check first to see if the salesperson is driving a cadillac Escalade. Also, the sales people prey on old people, and will not leave the home until the unit is sold.

- There are such vacuum cleaners generally used for gardens or lawns.
- Q:They are so dangerous. Vacuum Cleaners with cords are dangerous becauseYou can trip over the cordYou can get suffocated by the cordYou can lose extremitiesOr even worse...DeathI wonder why vacuum cleaners with cords are still being made. They are very dangerous, and it takes forever to vacuum with them because they cause people to trip or get caught up in the cord. There should be a law that makes it so that no more vacuum cleaners with cords can be manufactured after February 17, 2009-just like the DTV law. What do you think about these death trap vacuum cleaners?
- its not that bad,.........but they do get annoying.
- Q:Where could I find info. on this on what equals what? Thanks!
- Watts is amps x volts. So, it is just different ways of saying the same thing. Buy your sweeper, take it home and use it. If you don't like it, take it back and get another, if you don't like that one, take it back and get another.
- Q:please send a website link. if not an answer would do find
- All those fancy plastic manufacturing terms sound impressive, but I'm hear to tell you the Dyson's housings don't hold up like that of other manufacturers using ABS plastic. I've seen too many broken parts on those things. But Dyson has a lot of outrageous claims. Fact; Any vacuum can clog. There are filters to clean, and eventually you will have to replace them. There isn't a Bagless on the market that can out clean it's bagged counter part. They are made in Malaysia not England.
- Q:ok so i was cleanin my room today. i ran the sweeper under my desk and my comp froze and crashed and the screen looked like a video game when it crashes. and i rebooted it and it was fine. and i ran the sweeper under my desk again and same thing happened. but its fine when i'm not running the cleaner under my desk. wtf does that mean? do vacuum cleaners emit somekinda fequency that comps just dnt like? it never happened at my old house and when i had win XP. i have win 7 now.
- You may be pulling close to 20 total amps on the circuit. The static electricity also may be jumping to wires. Its called signal jump. To much power in the motor of the vacuum cleaner can create a huge electric field which could overwhelm your components in the computer. Shut the computer OFF when vacuuming.
- Q:there lot many usb vacuum cleaners are available in the market of different rates, but this kind of vacuum cleaner has enough suction power to suck the dust from the air vent(which is near to the fan) of the laptop? Please give suggestion as i m going to buy this if its good then bec. i have problem that my laptop's air vent is block due to dust, so its creating thermal shutdown problem....so please suggest me weather its good to buy or not ? or either please suggest me its alternative to solve my problem?
- You dont want a vacuum for that. You dont want to suck, you want to blow (kinky) a vacuums suction creates static pressure, which can cause static electricity, which can cause damage. So either buy a blower/air compressor, or buy some canned air. Canned air is cheap (like $4-6 at any walmart), and should last awhile, and works very well at getting dust off components. Just make sure you disconnect power/battery from laptop, and never tilt the can (as that causes it to freeze and can cause damage), instead of moving the can, try moving your laptop to the can while its upright.
- Q:They're louder than a car!Yet, there are some vacuum cleaners that have the silent function... why can't all vacuum cleaners have that function?
- I now but they are hollow so maybe that's why?
- Q:I'm looking to buy one, but don't see any quality reviews, so let's see what the yahoosers say.
- i bought a bissell from wal mart, i think it was 169, a heated power steamer or something like that. i've used it several times (not because it did a bad job the first time, i just have 3 dogs and DETEST pet hair everywhere) anyway, it does an excellent job getting rid of the pet hair, you just have to make sure and clean the brush and bottom of the steamer each time you use it so it doesnt' clog. but anyway, my overall experience is that it did well to clean my old carpets (they were here when we moved in) it dries quickly, it didn't leave a musty wet smell, and it's fast and easy to use. hope that helps

- Have them serviced. These are notoriously hard to take apart and reassemble. Plus, the cords might be soldered or hard-wired to the switch or motor, making this type of repair very difficult and potentially dangerous.
