Q:I had two vacuum cleaners from Bissell. One has a problem with the belt piece and can't be repaired, and the other has started to come apart (roller and roller pin, belt latch, and even the dust cup has come off the vacuum cleaner on its own and not even full.)I have been meaning to get a new vacuum cleaner since both cleaners are pretty old. I have a hard tiled floor in the bathroom, kitchen, and pantry (where my cat has her litter box), and I have a carpeted floor in both the living room and bedroom. I'm on a tight budget and I have to keep my apartment extremely clean for my landlord's random inspections,
As you mentioned you are looking for a good vacuum cleaner for your carpet floor and you are not sure whether the selected option would be a good vacuum cleaner for you or not. Considering your situation I would suggest you to opt for a vacuum cleaner which is suitable for the carpet floor and hard tiled.
Q:How efficient are vacuum cleaners in preventing the dust and other dirt that they suck from escaping through the air outlet. I'm using a Khind branded wet and dry vaccum cleaner model VC 3661, priced about USD 60, manufactured in 2004. The type that is shaped like a bucket and has its air outlet facing upwards and a removable, washable cotton bag inside. I notice that it has only two layers (slices) of dark -colored Sponge like material when I remove the air outlet cover. Is that sufficient to prevent dust, dirt and most importantly bacteria from coming out form the cleaner itself. It could be releasing the bacteria and spreading it all over the place.
Many vacuum cleaners do an excellent job of picking up dust and dirt. Those that use bags to dispose of the sweepings do a good job of retaining the dust and dirt in the bag. Whether it eliminates bacteria is not indicated on the bag.
Q:I have the Miele now, and see that Kenmore was top rated by Consumer Reports.
Have used Kenmore for years, also based on C/R ratings. Mine is a cannister; works well on dog fur. As I recall, Miele's biggest problem was initial cost, so if it's working ok, stick with it, but if you NEED to replace it, go with Kenmore. (My sister-in-law, whose kids have asthma, also swears by Kenmore.)
Q:What is the difference between a 2200W and 2000W vacuum cleaner?
200 watts (give or take 37) Is that a trick question? They both suck.
Q:Selling vacuum cleaners
Start looking now. Just quit as soon as you find another job. No reason to give notice if its never gonna show up on your resume, but you still need to pay bills until you find something better.
Q:At what point in history did vacuum cleaners become an appliance present in every household?
Something like 1949. It was being used before that. It took some time to accepted ans affordable.I don't my mother had one until 1959 ? Long time ago.
Q:When were wet/dry vacuums invented?
Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa invented a vacuum cleaner in 1860, calling it a carpet sweeper instead of a vacuum cleaner. His machine did, in fact, have a rotating brush like a traditional carpet sweeper, and also possessed an elaborate bellows mechanism on top of the body to generate suction of dust and dirt. Hess received a patent (US No. 29.077) for his invention of the vacuum cleaner on July 10, 1860 British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth patented a motorized vacuum cleaner on August 30, 1901. Booth's machine took the form of a large, horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit, which was parked outside the building to be cleaned with long hoses being fed through the windows. Booth first demonstrated his vacuuming device in a restaurant that same year and successfully sucked dirt. More Americans inventors introduced variations of the same cleaning-by-suction type contraptions. For example, Corinne Dufour invented a device that sucked dust into a wet sponge; and, David Kenney designed a huge machine that was installed in a cellar and connected to a network of pipes leading to each room of a house. Of course, these early versions of vacuum cleaners were bulky, noisy, smelly, and unsuccessful.
Q:Please read the following text first and answer my question.1. Is it feasible to make these appliances such as vacuum cleaners, illuminations, TVs, HDD recorders, air conditioners and such smarter in such a short period? When I feel the distance between quot;makeand quot;smarteris a bit far away, how should I rewrite it?
These appliances indicates that you have already identified them, so you don't need such as vacuum cleaners, illuminations, TVs, HDD recorders, air conditioners and such here. If you haven't in fact identified them, you can change these appliances such as vacuum cleaners, illuminations, TVs, HDD recorders, air conditioners and such to common household appliances. You should also eliminate and such even if you don't take either of my suggestions; the such as at the beginning already implies that there are other similar examples so it's redundant as well as repetitive.
Q:I have 2 vacuum cleaners, both need new electrical cords! How do I replace them?
There's not a whole lot to it. Follow the existing cord into the housing. Remove the screws that hold the housing together and pull the housing apart. You'll see that your white wires are typically wire-nutted together and your black wire from the cord will probably have a 1/4 female spade connector and is connected to the switch. The other wire on the switch runs to the motor. All you need to do is buy a replacement cord(assuming you can't just cut the bad part off the old cord) and route it in the same manner that the manufacturer did and make the connections just as they did.
Q:I have had Sears vacuum cleaners, with beater bar and brushes, for over 40 years, now all of a sudden the bars have only brushes, no beater (to vibrate dust out of the carpet.) So I am wondering if ANY other company has them???.
I okorder to be sure, and it is as I've always thought: a beater bar is a rotating brush, so any vacuum with a rotating brush has a beater bar. The action of the brush hitting the carpet loosens dirt. I can see this happening when I use my vacuum, if I look close in good light.
