- I straddle a chair 90% of the time --- I like the back to lean on --- So why can't you I think it stems from the olden days when it was against policy for a virgin to straddle a horse, which is why someone invented the sidesaddle for women

- And when you see what they are, you really won't want to pay that for them. :) The chairs are really nice and I can't think of anything you can substitute for the insert. It is 2 odd sized rectangle-ish foam inserts for the seat and back and then 2 cylindrical inserts for the arms. Stuffing it all in there is a pain but it's nice when you have to wash just one area of the chair. You might try looking on craigslist. I see stuff like that all the time on there. I know it's a good chunk of money (especially when you add the cover) but the one we have has really taken a beating and it still looks brand new. If you can't find a cheaper one, I'd still just buy the one from pottery barn.

- If you're worried about the price, you could buy an alternative. You could buy an Homedics Massage Cushion for under $200. It is a full sized cushion (back and bottom) that will strap on to any chair you already have. You sit on it and it works just like a massage chair. You can get them in many varieties like Shiatsu Massage or Swedish Massage. If you really want full massage chair, it isn't hard to find, even a really good one, for under $3,000. I'd say most run around $2,500. The key is to get one that doesn't have tons of extra features that you'll have to pay for, but aren't going to use. Buy something simple that has what you need. Don't let the description of a chair fool you into buying it. Just because it sounds like it has a lot of awesome characteristics doesn't mean it's worth paying for.

- Don't throw out the chair. Take it to a furniture repair shop and see if it can be repaired. There is a good chance they can. And you might want to check the safety of the other three chairs too. As for finding a replacement, check on Craigslist, FreeCycle, and Ebay. If you have a Facebook page, post a good photo and ask if anyone has a set they would like to get rid of. See if there is a Facebook group like Knoxville TN Buy, Sell Trade and post there too. And please give some idea of the date it was purchased. We have no idea if you have known your wife for 5 years or 50.
