Q:Using a jack to lift a car?
The work done in both cases is the same and will be equal to the change in potential energy the car has gained by being lifted. Work = Force x Distance If you lift the car directly you will apply a LARGE force over a SHORT distance. I you lift the car with a jack, you will be applying a Small force over a LONG distance (distance being the product of how many times you pump the handle and the travel distance each time) Bottom line. Force x Distance is the same ... and so is the work.
Q:The use of car lifts precautions and how safe operation
Lifting machine in the car maintenance and maintenance play a vital role, regardless of vehicle overhaul, or a small repair maintenance, are inseparable from it, its product nature, quality directly affect the maintenance personnel personal safety. In the maintenance of various types of maintenance enterprises, whether it is maintenance of a variety of models of integrated repair shop, or a wide range of business street shops (such as tire shops), almost all equipped with a lift. The following collection and sorting out the use of various types of lifts and precautions:
Q:Should I buy a car or lifted truck?
OH NO, another speed demon on the highways. Forget the Corvette. Ins and the body damage you will get after 'going fast and switching lanes will kill you if the crash doesn't. A lifted truck will end up on it's roof with your style of driving...... I was 17 once, and I can tell you I am lucky to be alive today, as I was just like YOU back then. Fortunately for ME, there were about 1/4 as many cars to run into back in THOSE days.
Q:Car Lift Leaking Fluid...?
Think a repair kit should be fitted by a pro
Q:how much dose it cost to get a car lifted?
if its a suspension lift 1000+ if a body lift 200-600 if you can adapt one from a truck.
Q:How do you fix my car hoods hydraulic lift?
That's gas springs. These are commonly used to support the weight of vehicle doors while they are open.
Q:I want to leave my my car lifted on four jack stands for 3-4 months to avoid flatspots?
Certainly. A cheap set of jack sands will be rated at 1,000 lbs or more of weight. This means 4 of them can easily support 4,000lbs. I own a 1997 Dodge Intrepid. It's a big 4 door luxury car and it weighs only 3,400 lbs. Check under the hood and on the drivers door for your cars data plate. It will tell you how much your car weighs. Unless you own an armor plated vehicle or a 1949 Buick it will weigh less than you think. The only thing you have to worry about is your car falling off the stands. Set your stands as low as possible to get your tires off the ground. This way if it falls it will be a very short distance. If you have steel belted radials on your car you are worried about nothing. I have had cars with radials parked for as long as a year with no permanent damage. Flat spots develop but just a few miles of driving, enough to warm up the tires, and they work themselves out. The only problem is if your car is parked on dirt. Over time the tires will sink into the ground forming low spots that collect water and will rot your tires. To solve this problem simply put pieces of 2x6 boards about 1 1/2 to 2 feet long under each tire. This will keep it from sinking into the ground. Also, if your jack stands are on dirt you must put boards under them to keep them from sinking into the ground. This can cause your car to fall off the stands. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Q:Im 16 years old and im wondering what is a good first car on a high schoolers budget?
Ill give you one in each category. muscle.. An old mustang GT..around the 2001 model year sporty car. Mk4 2004 VW golf GTI or jetta GLI the VR6 is more reliable. 4wd. An old 2001 jeep wrangler or toyota tacoma
Q:Lift the price of more than 3000 and more than five thousand in the quality of what is the difference?
Lifting machine 3000-5000 quality is not particularly good oh. As a device, or to consider the long-term cost-effective, as well as after-sales service capabilities. It is recommended to choose a professional some of the lift. China like Ai Wo Italian, Gaochang are better brands.
Q:Do cars naturally have "lift" or air pushing up on them from underneath?
lift is usually on the back...as air goes over it creates vacuum lifting back end...[spoiler provides down force]...on front air gets under causing it to want to fly...[counter acted by air dam]
