you mean truck, right. if you mean car, you dont want to go there. trucks, simply put, the idea here, arguably, depending on it's use, is that body lifts retain more of a lower center of gravity. it is also argued that suspension lifts don't give any real added clearance as the running gear/axle clearance is only effected by tire size. put on the tallest suspension lift you can find, and the axle clearance will not be effected. only frame rail clearance is effected. but your are right. in most cases, tire clearance can be addressed by imploying just body lifts.
