Q:who first made the wheel chair???????????????????????????????

It is uncertain as to what can be considered the first wheelchair, or who invented it. The first known dedicated wheelchair (invented in 1595 and called an invalids chair) was made for Phillip II of Spain by an unknown inventor. In 1655, Stephen Farfler, a paraplegic watchmaker, built a self-propelling chair on a three wheel chassis.

Q:Which do you prefer (I'm betting I know at least one person who will go chairs)

This question, as simplistic as it seems, is really a hard one to answer. The table would be nice to set things on, such as computers, lamps, televisions, etc. but then again, those could sit on the floor, if need be. A chair is extremely nice for a woman like me who has aching muscles (fibromyalgia), plus who has the friend, Art (arthritis) with her, at all times. I guess I had better choose a nice comfortable chair. Thanks for the offer of one or the other. :o)

Q:How old is your child?My son is 3 and I still rock him in a rocking chair or recliner. I really think that over 5 years of age is too old to rock in a rocking chair.Every night I rock him in a rocking chair, tell him a story, sing him a song, and kiss him while patting his bottom to sleep. I do not think he is too old for it.

My son is 20 months old and I think he's already too big. I would love to do it still, but he's super tall, 30lbs, and hates to be held down!

Q:Another friend suggested renting wood folding padded chairs. It is more cost effective however, now it comes down to choosing a color.

Is that price for the covers and sashes? If it is then rent the just the covers and make the sashes yourself they are easy to do and will save you money. If you have a relative that can work a sewing machine you can make both the covers and the sashes but this will cost you about half the rental for that many chairs however the up side here is if they work good you can take tons of pictures and the measurements and auction them off on OKorder or some other site and get your money back or more depending if you sale all together or in three lots of fifty.

Q:I'm very recently very interested in the old abandoned ski areas. I was wondering if anyone knew of an old area where lifts are still up? or even if the chairs are set on the ground that would be ideal. I'm looking for old chairs to just really get a good sense of the old technology that was used on these old mountain/areas. I've had some great success with finding rope tows and Poma lifts, however chairlifts are hard to find really with chairs still attached! Any information would be great. Just a hint. I am NOT looking to take these. I have found old Poma Bars, T-Bars, and old rope tow handles and always abide by the rules of the area. I have taken ONE T-bar, and asked the mountains owner for permission to take it. I don't know how I could fit a chair in my little Ford Taurus either! Thanks in advance for anyone who will be giving information on an OLD mountain with some chairs attached or lying around!

If you just need something to sit on, a wood box with a pad on it works pretty well. You can paint the box to go with your room color. Or buy a used chair at a charity store, like Goodwill Industries, and again paint it as you like. One chair there is really inexpensive, and you may already have some paint in the house that you can use. Actually building a four-legged chair with a back is pretty hard. I wouldn't try it, and I'm ancient, but I hope you will, someday.

Q:It still hurts in the spot where I hit the chair. Wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I am hoping it didn't harm the baby. Don't want to rush and call the doc or anything just yet, but what signs should I look for? Obviously if I start bleeding or something crazy I will go straight to the er, but I am just concerned that I might have just hurt my little one!

don't worry... I always bump into things and it hurts but I'm sure ur baby is fine.... If the pain continues for over a few hours look for signss like bleeding or baby movements decrased.... But I'm suree ur bby is ok

The chair shots are 100% real and often times really do lead to getting concussions. That's why if you notice lately they have been using chair shots less than they used to.
