Q:1: Which of the following is the number of grams in 5.8 kilograms?2: How do you find the volume and surface area of a triangular prism?3: The city of Rubberville plans to dig a rectangular landfill. The landfill will have a base with dimensions 700 ft by 200 ft and a depth of 85 ft. a. How many cubic feet of garbage will the landfill hold?b. What information would you need to determine how long the landfill can be used until it is full? (Don't really need to answer...this is easy.)c. An excavator was hired to dig the hole for the landfill. How many cubic yards of dirt will he have to haul away?
Thats a few questions.... 1) kilo=1000, 5.8kg=5800g. 2) volume=1/2(LengthxWidthxHeight) s.a. = well... there are 3 rectangles... so find the area of those rectangles (LengthxWidth). There are also 2 triangles, so find the area of those (1/2xBasexHeight). Then add all those together! 3) a) Just multiply the three numbers together: 700ftx200ftx85ft=11,900,000ft^3. b)The average amount of garbage deposited in a period of time. c) (I'm in Canada and on the metric system so I can't be too sure about this one, but the internet says there are 9 cubic ft in 1 cubic yard...) (11,900,000ft^3)x(1yrd^3/9ft^3)=1,322,22... Hope that helps!
Q:rented a mini-excavator to dig out my pool-no operating manual!
this is their web site. hope this helps. www.airman .jp/index_e.htm
Q:I have a big dirt pile just sitting behind my fence on my property. We plan on knocking the fence down and re-building it so the dirt pile needs to go as its in our way. The dirt pile came from a ditch that was built next to my house months ago and the workers just left the dirt that was dug up on my property. I have been calling and calling the company to come clean up their mess and they never return my phone calls so now I have to get rid of it myself but how? My husband tried shoveling it and spreading it out but that is way to much work as the pile is big and rock hard from sitting for so long. I have also called equipment rental places to rent a bulldozer or excavator and push it all out but they are way to expensive (we are on a budget). What's a cost friendly way to get rid of unwanted dirt piles?
Sign in yard, free dirt, you load, you haul.
Q:Just curious how do dentist get out decay on front teeth, do they use a drill? or do they scrape it out? just curious.
Usually both. First the drill is used to remove the decay, and hand excavators, too. Then it's not just a question of removing the decay and slapping the filling in. The cavity preparation is shaped so as to hold the filling better. It would nice if they didn't need the drill, wouldn't it?
Q:I cut down a ratty old tree, and dug the stump up with an excavator, my question is... Since I removed the old root ball, can I plant a new tree in the same hole.?? It a great spot to shade my house! Some have told me put it in a different place, but I really want it in the original spot. Will a new tree make it there??
You can b ut I recommend having a soil test done first. The old tree took lots of nutrients out of the soil. You need to know what nutrients you need to add for your new tree. Soil test can be done through your County Agent's office for a small fee. Your CA can also make recommendations on the type of tree to plant and when to plant at no charge. LOL
Q:And replanted if it takes a few weeks to complete and it's the middle of winter (i.e., Jan/Feb) in New England?
Yes, but it may add to the cost. Have them dug with an excavator and placed out of the way and all together. Cover the roots with bark, straw, peat or something similar. Cover with a tarp. Even better, see if you can locate a tree spade truck (unless plants are right against the house). When returned to the soil, they will need a well prepared hole with appropriate fertilizer, they will need staking, water, and may need pruning to balance the top to the diminished roots. Not all will survive but most should.
Q:Also, I noticed most job listings for them are temporary, how often must they relocate? Thanks
Field techs are basic archaeological excavators. They have to have a background in archaeology (usually a field school plus a bachelors degree), and they are the ones who dig test pits for surveys, excavate sites, sift dirt to collect artifacts, map sites, and so on. Field techs do the archaeology, but they are not the one in charge of the dig. People higher up work out the funding and contracts and permits, devise the plan for how and where to dig, do the background research (though field techs are sometimes involved in that), and write the final reports. The field techs are also usually the same people who wash, label, and catalog the artifacts in the lab. Field jobs are temporary. If you work for a company that has one job after another you might have the opportunity to keep working for them on a more permanent basis, but even then there will be times when there is no work and you are laid off. Lots of companies will just hire you for a short-term job and then lay you off, so you usually need to be in contact with multiple companies if you want to stay employed. I've worked field jobs that only lasted a couple days, but I've also been a field tech at a major site where I had permanent year-round work. Field tech jobs with CRM companies on average last only a matter of weeks, or sometimes a few months. Relocating somewhere new for each project generally only works if you know the job is longer term (though you still have to relocate after 6 months or a year or two), or if you are travelling around to short term jobs that pay a per diem. For example, a company may have jobs in multiple areas-- you go to those areas for a few weeks at a time and they pay your living expenses while you are there. Lots of companies only work in a specific region, however-- if you get with them, then you'll be commuting to different sites, but can at least have a permanent residence rather than relocating.
Q:Excavator first originated in that country?
Excavators were originally manual, and have been invented for more than one hundred and thirty years. They have been driven by steam, electric power, and internal combustion engines. After 1940s, hydraulic technology was applied to excavators. In 1950s, a crawler hydraulic excavator was developed.
Q:Hey everybody... Looking to build an underground house of sorts. Always wanted to tackle a project like this. In Arkansas, what's a ballpark cost of having somebody dig a hole in the ground... 12 foot deep, 40X40 ft across? No transporting soil, just put it all in a pile nearby. Thanks in advance!
u need a front loader. call a excavator for estimates in ur area.
Q:The S/N on the Excavator is 2FL5530.The pump # is 7I2730 or 7J2770.Thank you
