- Q:I am on home oxygen and my air hose keeps kinking up. How do I stop that?
- Since this could be a Life Threatening Situation you should speak to your Doctor and the supplier of your Medical Oxygen equipment BEFORE changing anything. They have experience with YOUR situation and can make suggestions accordingly. If you do not Twist or Severely Bend the tubing by over tensioning it, as would happen if you pulled on it when it became taught, it likely should not be kinking. Therefore try to adjust how you treat the tubing in those situations to avoid that problem in the future. Alternately, if the strain is caused by a length of tubing that is too short thus restricting your movements to the point of kinking, a slightly longer piece of tubing might be in order. (CONSULT your Doctor about the appropriateness BEFORE changing the length of the tubing.) In the case of many of the clear plastic tubings, a given size (I.D. / Inside Diameter) is available with more than one Wall Thickness. A Thicker Wall will make the tubing less likely to kink or crush out of shape, but will be stiffer and heavier.

- Well, I have a tubed cage with an up-right tube like that, and my hamsters love it!!!! Of course, my hamsters are dwarf hamsters. I've never really heard of the brand of cage you want to get, but I'd say get CritterTrail. That's what I have, and it's great. I would think that somewhere there are cages with bigger tubes so a Syrian hamster can use it. But I don't know, i think you should use a big glass aquarium and buy some tubes by themselves, and tape them onto the cage and see if your hamster climbs in them. Lol. Hope this helps!!!

- Q:Can anybody tell me what the plastic tubes/lines are that run along the under body of my 2003 GLI? I was driving down the highway the other day, and a Semi truck dropped a big chunk of ice off of it and I took a shot to my under body. When I got home I checked under neath and notice it dented my fuel filter pretty back and pinched a white plastic hose that was next to the fuel filter. I followed the line and it goes into my rear pass. wheel well. I looked in the owners manual but I can't find anything on these lines that are under there. Some are blue and some are white. Anybody know what it is? I unkinked the hose and everything seems to be running fine, I'm assuming it's some type of vent, maybe for the gas tank, but I've never seen anything like this before, and I'm kind of confused why they would run something like that under the body of a car that sits so low to begin with. I would really like to know what these lines are. Thanks!
- Ok, There are three lines one black white and green! Two are fuel lines one is fuel feed line and the other is return line to the tank! The other is a vent line or evap line! So I would check them out very closely for damage! If you look under your hood to the right of the coolant bottle are said lines you can follow each one ond see where it goes and what it goes to! Hope this helps.
- Q:I use a length of plastic tubing and after using it for a while (few months) it changed from clear to opaque. It had been exposed to heat, alcohol and water, nothing else. If you know why it changed colors please fill me in. Also, I would like to know if it is changed chemically that might effect things traveling through it or if it is merely a cosmetic change and I can ignore it for the most part.

A plastic is basically a polymer or group of polymers (polymer=same chemical compound repeated over and over again). When heat or another energy source is apllied, it has the ability to alter the polymer structure. Think of a polymer in similar terms as a crystal; all of the compounds in the plastic will align themselves in a similar way as the previous compound. When you do this with minerals, you end up with a clear or partially clear crystal. The same basic principal applies to polymers (plastics). Hope this helps!!
