Q:Whats that thing called that u see on the bottom of the front bumper of race and drift cars. Its some kind of bumper cover support mechanism, it‘s held up by one or more small hinged poles on each side of the bumper.
It is called a splitter. It keeps air that would otherwise go under the car from doing so. This creates a zone of high air pressure above the splitter and a low pressure zone below it. This creates downforce, keeping the front of the car from lifting off the ground and losing traction. It has to be balanced by a wing or spoiler at the back, or the downforce in front of the front axle would actually lever the back of the car upwards. Similarly, having a rear wing without a splitter can lift up the front of the car.
Q:FIRST CAR??????ok.should i go with a truck or suv that i can put lifts on and offroad with or should i get a
Your first car should not be a truck or SUV. They are hard to handle and dangerous. You need a safe car that is a few years old. You WILL get into accidents in your first 2 cars, no doubt. Go with something inexpensive and disposable. Then once you get a better grasp at driving, you can get a more expensive car, when you can afford to pay for it.
Q:In a hydraulic lift, the radii of the pistons are 2.18 cm and 9.4 cm. A car weighing W 10.6 kN is to be lifted by the force of the large piston.(a) What force Fa must be applied to the small piston?correct check mark N(b) When the small piston is pushed in by 10.7 cm, how far is the car lifted?mm(c) Find the mechanical advantage of the lift, which is the ratio W / Fa.W / Fa correct check mark I just can't get B , if anyone can help that would be spectacular!
it adds about 8 hp but the sound is the best thin in changing the exhaust
Q:A stupid friend challenged me to lift his 2006 honda civic and iaccepted it like a BOSS so howhard can it be ??
Lifting the rear of the car may not be as easy as you think. But a hernia operation will be the real challenge. Don't hurt yourself silly. If you can, bounce it off the ground instead of dead lifting it. And wear a good power lifting belt. Good Luck
Q:I have a 2003 crown vic (it was a police car at one point) and recently when i accelerate, usually between about 20-30mph, there is this metallic rattling sound under the car. The last time it did that, I got the oil changed (about 4 weeks ago) and the sound went away. However yesterday it started back up again. I figured that maybe my car is burning oil but when i checked the levels, it looked fine. The oil didn‘t look contaminated either, at least not as far as i could tell. Any ideas where to go from here?
Check for loose heat shields around the catalytic converters. Remove all the loose ones.
Q:Im saving up for a vehicle. a Chevy Silverado new, crew cab 2500HD then lift it at least 6 inches. Or should I get a gas friendly carlike a focus or something? LOL let me know. what do you girls like their men to be driving
i dont mind what car a guy drives, just as long as he doesn't love his car more than me. oh, and if youre just buying a car to impress a girl, you may want to re-examine your life a tad.
Q:Of course I don‘t have the tire yet, but IF I ever manage to get one I need to know what kind of bottle jack do I need for a 2000 Chevy Cavalier Coup. Why do I need a bottle jack? Well I am a girl and I need something that can lift a car. I have been through this before but I am trying to do it cheap this time so plz help me with the Bottle Jack.Thank you
If you can afford a Confederate Hellcat then you can afford to smash it or to have someone teach you how to ride.
Q:My toddler‘s car seat is in the middle of the back seat for safety (not in a window seat). I‘m pregnant and he‘s getting older/heavier. It‘s getting difficult lifting him in and out of the car seat. I have a 4-runner. My questions are:--For those of you with a toddler in the middle, do you use a step stool for him/her to climb on to get into the car and then climb into the car seat?--Do you have a car, van, or truck?--Does your toddler climb into his/her car seat on his/her own or do you lift him/her into it?
my daughter is 4 1/2 and she climbs in herself (car and seat) we have a van. She has been doing this since she was 18 months old. I still have to buckle her in though (she is small so she is still in toddler seat.) I am also pregnant weith twins so it is a good thing i dont need to lift her too much good luck.
