Q:I want a lightweight, easy to use, vacuum with good suction. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend more than 300.00. Also, does anyone know what is the suction power I am looking for for hosehold use.

You need the AMPS to determine the suction power the more AMPS they have the better suction power you'll get- but here is a very, very good vacuum to look into- It is a Bissel Powerforce Bagless Vacuum-my son bought his at Wal-mart and I use his all the time! It has 4 re-usable filters that you can rinse out and an attachment brush that has rotaion on it that I use on my bed and once after I had washed my bed spread it had those little lint pills all over it that I tried to shave off- well I tried this attachment and it took them off like it was nothing! I think he only paid like maybe $100 or less for his and it is now MY favorite vacuum!

Q:If sound doesnt travel through a vacuum, why are vacuum cleaners so loud?

The sound from a vacuum cleaner comes from it's motor. That sound travels through the air around the cleaner to you, never having anything to do with the actual vacuum inside the cleaner.

Q:Are there any products that work well, e.g. cleaners, mops, wet/dry vacuum-mops?

I use the Swifer WetJet - it is safe for the floor and cleans beautifully!!! It took a bit to dry, but it dries without smearing or streaks. Everything else I've tried leaves streak marks. Also, you can get a $5 off coupon from swifer on their web site. ...otherwise you can follow the advise of the guy who installed my floors...he said just a small amount of dish soap and water, but I found that to leave streaks.

Q:vacuum cleaners are pink for little girls BUT any sex can grow up and vacuum.....WHY?

I actually agree with the first poster. When I taught daycare all the boys played with trucks and legos and maybe the kitchens, and the girls played with dolls, dress up and did lots of pretending. Now my daughter is a typical girl who loves dolls but I got her a truck for the outside that she puts her doll in so she can have somewhere to sit....might as well of gotten a lawn chair. Most trucks however aren't genderized they are true life. Like my daughters dump truck looks like an actual dump truck. It's yellow like a real one. Would you really want a pink truck? That's not realistic either.

dirt devil brand for kids actualy picks up like a sweeper vac and you can empty out the dirt and everything it picks up.

Q:I am looking for two vacuums... One so I can clean around the house, and a hand held with a hose for the stairs. I don't want to pay a fortune, and I would rather not pay over $50.00 for a handheld. I would like to stay in the range of $150.00 for the regular vac. Thanks.

I have a little hand held dirt devil dust buster. It is the greatest thing! There are no cords, so you can take it anywhere. It is so great for vacuuming the car!! As for one around the house, you are going to have to look for one based on your specific needs. There are ones for pet owners, deep steam cleaners, etc. And if you really don't want to do it yourself, there are the roomba's that do it all for you!!! Walmart has a ton of vacuums. I posted a link on here. You can also search by price.

Q:anyone own a kenmore progressive vacuum cleaner!? I am in the market for a really great vacuum, at a resonable price, (unlike dyson's)! i have read good and bad reviews on the progressive! I have a black lab and I need a great vaccum to get up all that dog hair! Please let me know what you think and also what kind of progressive you have! THANK YOU!

I wouldn't recommend most of today's commercial brand of vacuum cleaners as they're all mostly junk made in Mexico, China, etc. I would recommend a Sebo cleaner- I got one after my Hoover died on my after only 1 year of ownership. I have a Labrador too, along with two kitties and need a dependable vacuum. I bought my Hoover for almost $200 and the Sebo's go for $250-300, not a lot more but they work so much better and have a lifetime warranty and a 30 year on the belt alone! They are German engineered and built.

ok so this may sound crazy but do it while shes sleeping. This way she will get use to noises when shes sleeping. I didn't with my first and my sister suggested it with my 2nd so wouldn't have the same problem of waking the baby with every little sound u make. Also the noise shouldn't bother her. Babies like white noise

Except of course the ones that cost over $400.So...has anyone bought a vacuum cleaner that doesn't have a ridiculous price-tag, that has actually continued to work well after you've had it for a year or more???

i was thinking the same thing. i have a eureka vacuum. it is basic maybe spent $60 from walmart. i have had it for a while now. 4+ years maybe. the trick is you have to show any vacuum TLC. clean the brush and change the bag regularly. don't let it fill up even half full before you change it. the problem with all vacuums that have bags is the bag is also the exhaust. the air comes out and once the dirt clogs up the tiny holes. then it doesn't work as well. ALL vacuums work great at first when they are clean and with a new bag. you just have to take the effort to keep them that way.
