Q:How much does it cost roughly to get the wiring put into the escape for the trailer lights? i dont expect a exact amount but on average

Most any auto parts store sells pre-made harnesses that just plug into the existing wiring at a connector in the rear. They include the plug for the trailer in most applications. First be sure to find out which plug the trailer uses then buy the appropriate harness. You have to disconnect the existing OEM connector, plug the wiring harness plug into it, then plug the other end of the existing connector into that. The plug can be mounted on a bracket to the frame or bumper if needed or just utilize the pigtail attached to the plug. Cost depending on where you buy it probably around $20-30. Can be installed by anyone with even limited automotive knowledge.

Q:i am swapping a 1987 dashboard into my 1986 mustang. i am using the 86 wiring harness and have a 1987 donor harness. everything was going pretty good until i saw that the headlight switch was way different and the donor harness didn't have the headlights switch. i was wondering if there was a way to wire in the 87 headlights switch into the original 86 wiring harness? pictures would help. AND how to wire in the 1987 hazard lights into the 86 because the 86 hazard is a pull thing on the bottom of the steering column.

Q:I am putting in a Panasonic CQ-C7105U in my tahoe and the radio came with a wiring harness along with another harness that came with the dash kit. I wanted to connect the two wiring harnesses together so that if we sell the car I can take the after market out and put the factory back in easily.The only thing I notice about the different harnesses is the gauge of the wires. there is a yellow wire on the panasonic harness labeled battery 15a and from what I understand the orange wire on the other harness is the battery wire for that. Does it matter that one battery wire is larger than the other? The same thing also occurs with the ground wire. (other wires seem to be the same)Also there are two blue wires on one and one blue wire on the other? Think they are the turn on wires, if so why would there be two?

it doesn't matter about the guage as long as the wire from your truck is bigger the blue wires should be speaker

best buy sells aftermarket wiring harnesses that use the factory plug. 20 dollars i needed one for my astrovan it worked like a charm

Q:am not talking about the factory wiring harness i am talking about the wiring harness used to connect the factory wiring and a new stereo? i am trying to connect the 12v switched wire to a remote power supply to my amplifier?

Generally these after market adapters are color coded the same, and the switched 12v supply wire is blue (dark blue w/ a silver stripe on mine, labeled power antenna lead). At least that's what color mine was in my 00 Civic harness when I connected my amp. For additional switched power supply (if you need it) you could use a fuse tap, and tap the ACC fuse in the fuse block. Only do this if you run out of other options though. I had to use this method when connecting my CD changer, which also required a switched 12v supply.

Q:I have a 93 land cruiser and something is wrong with the trailer wiring harness. Only the left side seems to work. When turning on the right turn signal, the left blinks, and the right side will not light up under braking either. The left signal works properly and it will light up under braking. This happens on several trailers ive towed, so its not the trailer wiring, its the harness on the vehicle. I ran a multi meter as well to confirm that its the vehicle wiring thats messed up. I don't believe its the plug its self. Any clues?

test with a test light from plug to where it hooks to harness . make sure ground is good

Q:I need to get a new wiring harness for my 74 260z. I was also wondering if any of the wiring harness from the other z models would fit a 260z? If so what year?

Nissan is actually very good about still offering parts for the early Z cars. I would check the price at your local Nissan parts department. It won't be cheap but getting a used one could be a lot more expensive in the long run.

Q:I am unsure of where I can get one of theses. I know Wal-Mart has stereo factory harnesses but I don't see any that specificly say Geo. I know Tracker was eventually adopted by Chevrolet so would it be a Chevy wiring harness?

remember its really a suzuki sidekick so look for that also

Q:i have a 73 merc 650 with no control box and was hoping someone can point me in the right direction for wiring in a key switch i have a mercontrol throttle and shifter box less wiring i just need to know how to wire it together as i don't have 200-300 bucks to spend on the proper control box so if anyone can find me a website to the proper resources i'd be most appreciative and send them pictures of the fish we caught thanks for looking, helping

the wiring is pretty simple on that engine. any decent shop should give you a crude diagram. if not, post it again i'll try to take you through it.

Q:hi i have a 1998 grand prix im gonna install wire harness i got from junkyard due to many broken and melted together wires anyway i have the other one but some wires are cut everything is color coated so its easy but there are to black wires idk what they go to or if it matters if i just connect them 1998 grand prix 3.8 non supercharged

black is generally a ground wire, depending on your vehicles configuration
