Q:I have running lights back up lights everything but brake lights and my third light doesn't work.
Is there an aftermarket trailer harness in there? If so, remove it, make sure the factory wiring is all hooked back up, and go from there. Third brake light on a GM will be controlled by a separate switch on the brake pedal, as it's supposed to be redundant in case of primary brake light failure, not tied together. Theoretically you could wire it with the primary, just make sure your brake lights work like was done for the ~80 years before the retarded third brake light. Those lights are for stupid people that don't maintain their cars, not for responsible people.
Q:i wanna get a Jensen VM9214 Single DIN MultiMedia Receiver with 7-Inch Flip out Touch Screen but idk whether to get a wiring harness for it cause idk if it has one or not???
It will come with a harness to fit the radio, which can either be spliced into an existing harness or be used with an adaptor harness that can be used to plug into the factory harness. I prefer to purchase an installation kit, or at least the adaptor harness as this allows re-installation of the factory unit and for the wiring to be done on the bench instead of in the vehicle.
Q:Harvard h6 control lock in the motor line in what position
No industry standards in accordance with their own understanding of the Notes can be done in general, according to my turn into CAD
Q:I have 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The stereo that is in the Jeep is the factory 6 disk MP3 player. I want to replace the radio and put in a nice radio with the ability to play my iPod music through it. I plan on buying the radio on OKorder most likely. My question is is the wiring harness that is already installed in the Jeep that goes to the factory radio will probably not fit the new radio Do I have to buy some sort of adapter or something of the sorts to make this work?

Q:I am thinking that I do not need a wiring harness for my Alpine CDA-9884 to go into my 05 Colorado. I have both of the wiring diagrams so I know what all the wires do for what. Can't I just solder the matching wires together and bypass the clip part? Also, I understand that I need a 12v switched power lead so I am going to run the power to a fuse in the fuse box. Anyone know a good fuse to use that runs with switched 12v?Someone please tell me if this is incorrect, but from what I have been reading, it seems as though this is a fine setup. I don't care about losing the door chimes at all.
For the investment of $15-20, you'd be making a big mistake not using an aftermarket harness. For one, if you ever do decide to change radios, you have to do it all over again. Secondly, if you ever decide to sell the automobile, you'd have to sell it with the Alpine, or solder the original harness back in. In which case, the new buyer won't think highly of what you had done. Direct splicing is one of those things that car audio people consider to be a jack-leg move.
Q:Any idea where in the world I can get one. Buying a new car right now is out of the question.
Yes, for genuine Toyota parts at about 30% off MSRP plus UPS SH, I found and have dealt with 2 Toyota dealers in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX for like 10 years. You can find the Toyota parts catalog, the part number, the suggested price and their discount right on the internet, call the Internet Parts Department and fax in your order along with credit card. Locally if I need a genuine Toyota part, I have to watch for a coupon in the mail from local Toyota dealers and most of the time, the discount is only 15% and occasionally 20%. A wiring harness can be expensive but if you want to keep your Toyota for Life, then I recommend only using genuine Toyota parts bec we owned 5 Toyotas from brand new and the longest was 1993 Toyota Camry LE with 211,000 miles before my wife and her sisters decided SUVs for safety and we bought 2005 Highlander 6 cylinder AWD Hope the Above Info Helps!
Q:I already have an Alpine aftermarket head unit in my 2002 Civic. Am probably going to get a new head unit with USB/iPod control and a new mount for it since I broke the old one, but do I really need a new wiring harness if I already have one in for the aftermarket unit? Thanks!
If your getting another Alpine, you might be able to hook it directly in. Just make sure to double check that, by holding them side by side, but I'm almost positive their all the same now. If you go with a different berand, you can use the harness, but will need to wire the new one inplace of the old. Good Luck!
Q:Everything has been pretty self explanatory so far. I've connected yellow to yellow, red to red, black (ground) to the chassis. I've got the + and - of each speaker connected fine. However the one question I have is that on the pioneer connector there is a blue/white cable. In the pioneer diagram it says blue/white is for Connect to system control terminal of the poweramp or auto-antenna relay control terminal . However on the mitsubishi harness, there is no blue/white cable. There is only a blue wire that says for antenna power. These sound like two different things, so if they are not used, then how will the antenna get power? Also on the harness are two orange wires labeled dimmer and dash illumination. However, on the pioneer connector nothing is mentioned nor in the diagram, so I am guessing these are to be taped off and not used.Still confused about the antenna power though.help!
Go ahead and connect the blue wire to the blue/white. Some head units have both a blue and blue/white wire. A blue wire is the true power antenna wire; it's active only when the tuner function is selected on the head unit. A blue/white wire is active whenever the head unit is turned on. Most Pioneer head units have only the blue/white wire, so that's the best connection for your power antenna. You are correct about the orange and orange/white illumination wires; just tape them off and don't use them. Some head units have a feature where they'll dim the display when you switch the headlights on. Your head unit doesn't have that feature, so there's no need to connect an illumination wire.
Q:Don't know what the old wiring harness was hooked to, faceplate was ripped off, but I'm getting a Sony Xplod CDX-GT34W and I don't think it comes with one so what should I do. Cars a 97 Eclipse.
yes and no.yes u can use the wiring harness (presuming the previous owner bought one and hooked it up correctly) that hooks from the car to the actual head unit harness. ** no u cannot use the old head unit harness tho.so no it will NOT plug in.u will need to unplug the old head unit at the factory hook-up and then splice the wiring harness to the new head unit .the wires are color coded and labeled tho so should be fairly easy.
Q:I have a factory radio and i want to install an aftermarket sony radio in a 2003 land rover discovery.
