Q:I was pricing vacuum cleaners and some say they have 12 volt motors and some 6 amps. Which is the better buy?
Now I m confused ...There are several motors measured in amps! There are several tools that list amps and/volts and NOT both. Even electric motors will be 6.5, 10, 12, 13 Amps... 24, 40 Volts. The 2 that I looked at last I noticed the amps were corded and the volts were battery operated But I m sure if I looked at more that may not be a general rule.... there may be another corded mower that says amps... Again, I am way more confused by these posts now
Q:I have a Eureka canister, model 1620 B. I am trying to find HEPA bags for the canister. Eureka no longer makes quot;type Squot;, but I have found Hoover quot;type SHEPA bags and am wondering if they are compatible.

Q:Here is the question:Inside all vacuum cleaners is a high speed fan. Explain how this fan causes dirt to be picked up by the vaccum cleaner.I am a tutor but dont understnad this so just give em the answers and ill choose your answer, for the kids.
the fan causes the vacuum cleaner to suck-in the air. as the moving air passes by the dirt particles, it's the INTERACTION of the moving air and the dirt that causes the dirt to be drawn along with the air. basically, the air molecules bash into the dirt particle and impart energy (momentum) to the dirt, and this is what makes it move. if there was no air motion over the dirt, then the dirt particles would not respond to the vacuum cleaner.
Q:Why do diesel locomotives sound like loud vacuum cleaners when they are running power. Does it have to do with gas combustion?
They're noisy because they're huge machines that have no reason to be built to be quiet.
Q:I desperately need a small canister vacuum as my husband and I are disabled and they are very easy to use. Also has to be reasonably priced, new or used.
there is a kone one at big lots that is great and decorative when not in use. i use it and it does great! it was 18 bucks! and it was eureka i think!
Q:I would like to know how exactly was the Vacuum cleaner invented, what is it's main purpose? Are there any unintended sequences from this invention? IE: Is it being used for things its not supposed to?Thank you for your opinions
The electric powered vacuum cleaner as we know it was invented by James murray spangler who was a janitor, he made it using a box a pillowcase a fan motor as well as a few other odds and ends this eventually leads to the start of the Hoover Company and Spanglers machine was the Model O, there are other designs that predate this which were manually powered, gas engine powered, and bellow powered. It's main purpose was to make the cleaning of rugs and carpeting easier. Of course with any machine there will be some misuse of it i have heard of people trying to clean the bottom of their pools with household vacuum cleaners
Q:Opinions please on Bosch vacuums Iknow that they have really good appliances but I'm not sure about the vac. Any help would be great.
I recommend that you check the March 2006 issue of Consumer Reports. On page 30 is a full report with ratings on vacuum cleaners. They tested both uprights and canisters, and the Bosch Premium Prestige($800) came out number 2 in the canisters. The Sears Kenmore Progressive($500) came out number one, and had more features for less money. If you want to save even more money, check out the Sears Progressive with Direct Drive. It came it number one in the upright vacuums, and will save you even more money at $300. Good luck!
Q:What kind of vacuum cleaners get around baseboards the best? Mine does ok with the floors but the edge cleaner is bad.
NO upright vacuum cleaner on the market will do a really terriffic job of cleaning the edges of carpet or flooring close to walls, furniture, etc. I've been repairing these things, all makes and models for over 35 years, and I can tell you with certainty that edge cleaning is nothing more than hype, by the vac companies. The best method to get the dirt and dust around the edges of your carpets is a hose attachment and a crevice tool or dust brush. Buying a high amperage vac is doing nothing more than spending more money for more electricity to run the vac motor. There are several vac's available that make tremendous vacuum with 6 - 8 amps, while there are many vac's advertising 12 - 14 amp motors that make less vacuum with less air flow. As for the Dyson, that's a real rip. The ads talk about not losing vacuum because they don't have filters to clog. I'm curious then, as to why my parts distributor lists 12 different filters for Dyson's. ???
Q:I am needing to get a new vacuum. I have a dog and cat, so I want something that is going to pick up the fur and not get clogged easily. Which vacuum do you recommend?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Bissell VS Eureka Vacuum Cleaners...which is better? I am needing to get a new vacuum. I have a dog and cat, so I want something that is going to pick up the fur and not get clogged easily. Which vacuum do you recommend?
Q:i need it for picking up guinea pig droppings. i've built an indoor pen, with safe soil and grass i grew for them to run around in, just because theres dangerous things outside, plus if given the chance they would run away haha... thats how it is ( No matter how much you love them gt;lt;) but im worried, that all the handheld vacuum cleaners i can find claim to be strong, and able to pick up deep.. yaddayadda.. i need something pretty weak, because i dont want to uproot the grass/seeds. any advice?
Whatever you buy, DON'T buy a dry dirt cordless dust buster - if you can, seek out a Wet and Dry model and the cheapest ones with 6V batteries or less will give you a weak suction. Not a lot of hand held cordless dust busters are really that strong - even Dyson ones run out of power after 5 mins! However, You may find that it won't even pick up - a slight downside. Dry dust hand helds are only for dry dust - the wet and dry option has a harder filter that can be used for picking up droppings, plus it's easier to clean out. ALSO, big tip from me - if you are worried about it picking up the grass/seeds, just cut up a pair of old tights and line the mouth of the dust buster into one of the open toe sections - the Lycra allows you to suck up what you want but you'll have to manually remove the droppings : (. It's a trick I learnt when watching a program about the Queen in London! Handy for earrings etc too!
