I was thinking that there must be a place where you can get insulated curtains to hang on walls that are exposed to the exterior. Like those large commercial type curtains in office building that you would hang along an entire wall or foam board that you would stick to that wall.It wont be as efficient but it will keep me from paying a small fortune for heating while I save up for the insulation work.Thanks!
- We had that problem in my mom's 80 year old house on the side walls which were plaster without insulation. We bought 4' x 8' rigid foam insulation sheets (1 1/2 inch, I think) and wrapped them with burlap (you could use any fabric -- king-sized sheets from a discount store would be a cheap source of a lot of yardage). Then we stapled vinyl sheeting to the wall for a vapor barrier and fastened the panels to the wall with drywall screws through to the studs. It made a huge difference in keeping the rooms warm and the wrapped foam made a giant bulletin board that we could hang things on.

- On the plus side you want a feature wall. On the minus side your solution is pretty expensive, particularly if you aren't staying that long. OK you can take it with you but you've got the hassle of taking it all down and making good where the curtain rod fixings were. It's cheaper and easier to do a feature wall just using emulsion paint in a single colour such as red/burgundy or maybe a chocolate. You can turn it back to cream for the price of another tin of paint and a brush and keep your landlord happy so you get your deposit back.

It has bare, white walls and we arent allowed to paint them.We can hang anything etc. We have been trying to come up with a creative way to bring color to the walls.We were thinking of covering one of the walls with curtains. - Are you allowed to use wall paper. If you are you can use that. It's a little hard to get of the wall but it's so much fun to take off. You just get a steamer or steam blower cleaning thing and steam the walls. It won't peel off but it will loosen the glue so you can peel it. You can hang curtains on the window instead of the wall. And fill up the wall with pictures and shelves with small nic nacks. I have these squares and they are 3 different sizes, you hang them on the wall and put like flowers or books inside. It's like having a book shelf but only a very small square bookshelf...if that makes sense

- Q:I friend was staying with me and apparently was using (shooting up?) liquid Dilaudid. There are stains on my walls, ceilings, and curtains from the dilaudid. They are rust/red colored stains. I have tried Magic Eraser, soap and water, and peroxide. I cannot get the stains off. My bathroom looks bad with all the streaks and dots everywhere. Anyone have suggestions on cleaning these off without having to repaint?? Thanks in advance.
- I'm sorry - how the hell did they get it on the walls, ceilings, and curtains? They must've been confused about the meaning of 'shooting up'. There's probably not much you can do but paint, replace the curtains, and then beat some compensation out of your friend.
